 Topic: A letter to caitlyn for her 5th birthday

my dear daughter
Well,time sure flies huh? this time 5 years ago i was at aunty rachels birthday party with back ache despairing that i was in fact going to be the first person to be pregnant forever, and now here you are 5 tomorrow and off to school on monday.
You werent born in the most satisfactory of circumstances, i was only 19 and really,maturely wise, far too young, your dad and i barely liked each other by then and i wasnt exactly rolling in money, in all honesty it probably would have been better for you and me if we had waited.
But me being me( ie stubborn, as you know) decided keeping you was the only option and its a decision i've never regretted, sure we've had some tough times you and me, but we've also had mostly wonderful times, amazing times beautiful memories that belong to just us.
Everyday, even now, i find it hard to comprehend that YOU came from MY body, how could I, with all my flaws have made someone so pretty and clever and perfect? of everything i have created and made in my life, you are by far the most amazing achievement.
So as you embark on what is the start of your school life, where you may meet that special friend who will be one of your dearest till your all grown up , i hope you know how much i love you , and that i am so proud of you.
I dont know what i did in my life to be your mummy , but i thank God for it every day.

Ps-just a quick note of thanks to my mum, susieq, i know i havent always shown it mum, but i know very well i couldnt have survived the last 5 years without you and dads love and support.
Your a fantastic nana and a fantastic mum and its an honour to be your daughter, i love you both

I hope you do keep that letter for her later!!! it is lovely and the sentiments in it will otherwise get lost over time....

thanks for your birthday wishes guys , shes had a great day, got to be centre of attention (which she loves ) at kindergarten mat time today, had macdonalds for lunch and she and I went to see shrek 3 (very cool btw)
The letter ive also written out for her, i write her a letter every year on the night before her birthday and add bits shes done relating to that past year, all to give her when she turns 21

Awwww that is such a lovely wee tribute to your wee girl and well done to you hope you have a fantastice time at school and enjoy being 5, man they grow up so quick aye my big boy will be 5 next year eeekkk!!!
