I went to spookers tonight. All was good except someone jumped, stepped back and slammed into my stomach.

It hurt.

Now im paranoid about bubs. I have felt her move, but only a wee bit. Am i just being paranoid or should i talk to my midwife?

Melanie.

If you lie down and have some cold water to drink does she move more?

She is probably ok due to all that fluid cushioning her...but if you are worried, your MW could be the answer.

Scary times huh?

hey melln I had a car accident & had major abdominal brusing when I was in my 2nd trimester.. it freaked the hell out of me.. i thought I had lost baby.. but he was fine..

It is really scary when this sort of thing happens.. we feel very protective of our precious cargo.. fair enough too tho'

I went to a & e for a check out as baby seemed really quiet.. but was fine. Doc said he's got a great big bubble protecting him, he probably didn't even feel it.. but he will be sensing mummy is stressed so this is more than likely why he is quiet..

Think this is the same for you hun - but I'm not expert.. if you're worried I agree - definitely phone your mw for  reassurance

I agree with the others but just wanted to add, your midwife will pop out to visit you and check babies heartbeat etc even if its just for your peace of mind.
I had a fall down some stairs in my second trimester and called my midwife's backup (who I'd never met) as my midwife was away. She came right away even though she knew it was just me being a worrywart!
Take it easy chick, and call your midwife if you're feeling worried!

Thanks guys. I think ill just stick this one out. Ive got a appt at the hospital tomorrow morning for a check up so ill just wait till then. Its not like she hasnt moved since lastnight, its just shes not moving as much as id like!

But i have to get a CTG(??) tomorrow so i dont need to bother the MW, not that she would mind. Plus i think all my stuffs been passed onto the new MW that i have never even met lol.

That's what I was going to say. Since you're going tomorrow, I can understand waiting. One thing I have been advised in the past is to quickly drink a glass of ice-cold water then lie down and it should wake baby up.

But don't panic if it doesn't! Lily never moved for anything - ice water, food - except her dad rubbing her tummy and talking to her. I ended up on CTG monitoring at 34 weeks becasue she wasn't very active, and there was very little movement through the whole thing (they got me to drink and stuff during it, nothing)so DH got down and started talking to her and - kick, kick, kick!

Sam was really quiet in the last 10 weeks. I used to freak out all the time. The only thing that guaranteed movement was a glass of coke or chocolate.

So how did you manage to get into spookers pregnant? They wouldn't let me in    Hope you had a great time

Sterryn: Really? I thought that would happen to me. So before we went my cousin double checked and basically they said they dont reccomend i go in but they wont turn me away if i do.
(plus i was hidden away in the middle of the group and the desk where you pay and get the tickets came to just above my stomach lol!)

Nzpiper: Spookers is this place here. Its at the old psychiactric hospital in Kingseat (just out of Auckland if you didnt know hehe) and they have made it into a haunted house place! Its really fun hehe.

Oh yeah, Caitlynsmygirl, ive had a fear of zombies since childhood (thanks to my siblings and cousins letting us watch those movies), and also freddy kreuger and who pops up and touches the back of my neck with his glove.
And also a lady asking me if i want to stay with her until i have my baby, and she has an axe lol. And she put her baby in the fridge.

Halarious!

We're planning on going to the maize maze in summer when it opens too.

All went well at the hospital by the way guys! Bubs was fine and apparently my bile salts came out just negative lol. So i dont have cholestasis. Apparently if it had come up 15 i would have it, but it came up 14. Now i dont know what all the numbers mean hehe but im hoping it will get better and not worse!
Im not taking the pills anymore (i ran out lol) and i dont seem to be itching as much so yay.
