Nudity

interesting topic!!

umm with my DD1 (13) I wouldn't care if she saw me nakey, but she doesn't come in when I'm in the shower etc anymore... stopped at about ten I suppose. Her dad hasn't been around so dunno what would have happened there...

DD1 (2) sees both me and DF nakey all the time... although I'm far more comfortable than him (she does always point at his penis and make comments such as "oh yuck daddy... it's something... or "yuck is it a poo daddy")... I think as she gets a bit older DF will be more uncomfortable with it...

I wouldn't feel comfortable doing the vaccuming naked though... but we have too many windows and my tummy is too fat

ETA I don't think it is damaging to children at all to see there parents naked in a non-sexual way!

I don't have a problem with it in my own home. I have 3 boys & my oldest is 9 so I all of a sudden don't feel comfortable being naked in front of him & I am talking about getting dressed & showers etc.

DH has baths with them occasionally & I think cause it is boys he had no problems with it but if it was girls (over 5ish) he would feel different I think. He has no problem being naked if front of them & they don't care, but that's getting changed or baths etc.

When they hop in the grandparents spa they have a choice of getting changed or naked & they usually go naked.

In public I would not have my kids naked & that is probably cause I watch criminal intent & stuff like that.

DS3 asked DH when he was younger what are they pointing to his nipples & DH said nipples but DS3 could not say it probably so he called them apples....so if he sees me in a bra he goes you got big apples

pmsl at big apples jazzy!! DS calls them titties, but the 'tt' he pronounces closer to 'd' so it comes out sounding like Tiddies... not sure where he got the term from cos I never told him what they were called!

For me I'm fine with nudity. My house is clothing optional. So was my mums house when I was living there.

I'm always walking around naked. Admittedly we live in a unit so most of our windows look out at a fence and on the other side is the driveway, but those curtains are closed quite often.

I used to see other family members naked at times. My nana and my uncle. I didnt see anything wrong with it.

Daniel sees us naked, but I remember as a kid once I reached school age I didn't want to see my parents naked. That was gross in my head.

Possibly cos there are too many whack-jobs out there who would purposely go to places where children may be naked.

That would be my reason anyway.

I get your reason, but were the whack-jobs not around 10 to 20 years ago?

I dont want to seem brainless or naive, but whats the difference between then and now?

I don't mind tbh, DD is almost 3 months and now that she is too big for the baby bath I jump in the big bath with her as it's easier than hanging over the side, dp sometimes has a shower at the same time. She's too young to know anything anyway!

My parents never showered or bathed with me as a kid but DPs did.

I think if people want to walk around their house nude, that's fine, cooking or cleaning nude I find a bit weird... (What if you burnt yourself or something?!) Although I wonder what would happen if someone knocked on the door? You have to get dressed quickly!! lol

I think it is good for kids to learn to be comfortable with their bodies... IYGWIM... No harm.

I go into the bathroom if dp is showering, or my mum or grandma... Not my dad or granddad though... I think it's considered 'cute' for young kids because they are young and innocent and don't know any better??

I suppose I would stop bathing with DD when she starts school in case she gets teased for being the only kid who still baths with their parents?

I am fine for people to come into the bathroom when I am nude or showering etc.

Hi yeah I have no problem being naked in front of DD, which is only when I'm getting changed or having a shower etc. When I was pregnant, my DH also said that he would never let our children see him naked, but now he has no problem with it. Although if he has a bath with Chelsea (like he did yesterday) he wears undies lol!

I also wouldn't want Chelsea being naked in public because of weirdos (don't remember if I used to run around naked as a young kid or not...) but she often crawls around at home with no nappy on to get some air on her bum

Not sure when I'd stop getting changed in front of her. Possibly whenever I stop seeing her naked (can't remember what age that is). I used to see my parents naked a lot while growing up. But when I was about 16 mum walked out of her room starkas for the first time in ages and I said something along the lines of "EWWWW GROSS!" and that was the last time I saw her naked haven't seen my dad naked since I was around 7ish I guess tho.

Oh and no I don't walk around the house naked or do housework naked etc, just coz I prefer wearing clothes

hahaha! That certainly would be funny. But honestly do people really cook or clean naked???

I walk around naked or half naked when getting ready or looking for clothes etc. I don't have a problem with seeing immediate family members nude (ie parents and siblings) as I grew up that way. My DH however is very different and I think has never seen his parents nude. Not sure what he will be like with our children.
