I am not a big fan, but I can't see any other option for us with a 17 month old and a newborn! I walk a lot so need a buggy that is easy to manoeuvre, that will take 2 kids, will fit in shops, cafes, the odd bus and ferry.

So I have some questions for all you P&T fans!

What are the differences between the classic, sport and dash (apart from the price)?

Is the buggy stable with 2 kids in it?

Do you worry about the kid sitting in the bottom seat being too close to the ground and looking straight up the back of the other seat? Do they get bored?

Have you had any problems with the buggy? I've heard that some models have quite a few faults...?

Is it easy to 'drive' and fold?

Thanks heaps!

I have a sport. I have the double attachment but haven't used it as we only have one baby so far. It is easy to fold and very light. The only thing I don't like is how stiff the brake is as I can't take it off with my foot I have to bend down and do it but that's no major. It's easy to push but I have to lock the wheel if I'm rocking E to sleep as it has a tendancy to turn when doing the back and forward motion. It doesn't bother me as I hardly ever do that anyway!

I am pleased with it and would happily buy a P&T again

I love our P&T e3- have had it 3 1/2years since Isla was born and now using it for #2.
With a newborn you lie the main part down flat, and have the toddler in the doubles kit sitting up the front of the buggy- we did this a few times wehn going for a walk and it was good.
But by 3 1/2 months Aiden was happier sitting up a bit on the most reclined position than lying flat. So to have the baby not lying flat when using the buggy with 2 kids the baby would have to be at the back in the doubles kit, and the toddler up front sitting in the main buggy- I think that would be too young for baby to be in that seat, and would be had to get them in and out cos they still young and not that strong, and the angle of the doubles seat is probably to high too, but I think the newer models have reclining double kits seats so tht might be better.

Newer models do have a recline double seat and it works okay with a young baby in the back.
I have a sports and I have no complaints. People mention the break but I haven't had any problems with this at all.

We have a sport and have no complaints. Kids can look out the side when they are in the bottom seat and if they are anything like mine they will be fascinated by the wheels anyway.

We have a dash, the reason we got it over the sport is that I couldnt put the sport brake on with my foot so I had to bend over and do it with my hand...

There was just no way I was doing that everytime I needed the brake!

I never liked the idea of them either but I really do love it and P&T have great service on faults I must say. I had a part brake which I *think* was actually my fault but they didnt even question it just replaced the buggy!

Threadjack.
Melnel. You have the dash graffiti aye??
DO you find the front wheel often trys to go in the other direction when you push it from stopped??
It's driving me nuts.

When would it be ok for a baby to be i the reclined seat at the back, instead of lying flat??

sarabetha... i had the graf but had it replaced, twice for above mentioned breaking and now have the normal... the one i have now was doing that and i took the wheel off and lubed the shaft up with vaseline, popped the wheel back on and all good.

The shop I got it from recommended that and if it doesnt work than the washer on the front wheel may need replacing so contact who you got it from for that. There was a fault with the front wheel on the dash on the early models that they have now fixed so you may have got one from the first lot of graf's made...

FX the vaseline works for you!

When they can support their head really well, it's just so they don't tilt their head forward and cut their airway iygwim.

We've recently purchased the Dash went with that over the sport mostly due to the brake mechanism, and in the end there were a few extra details that I liked.

The sport is still ok - if you can manage the foot brake you'll be fine. I have heard however that with the doubles kit it can be more difficult to access the foot brake on the sport.

- Just wanted to say that's why we bought our P&T and it's been great for this. Awesome for public transport (though I don't "do" buses here lol) and can get around most shops.

So I have some questions for all you P&T fans!

Is the buggy stable with 2 kids in it?
IME yes, very. In my last job before I had C I did loads of walking at the gardens with the newborn/toddler combo and found it great. It's the main reason I fell in love with P&Ts!

Do you worry about the kid sitting in the bottom seat being too close to the ground and looking straight up the back of the other seat? Do they get bored?
I did worry about this initially, but Callum seems more than happy in the back. He likes to watch the wheels and when you get down at their level you can see that actually they can see quite a lot, just not straight ahead IYGWIM.

Have you had any problems with the buggy? I've heard that some models have quite a few faults...?
We've had the weird front wheel issue with our Vibe. Thanks for the vaseline tip Melnel! Up till now, removing the front wheel and putting it back on has fixed the prob for us, so I think it's just that it needs lubing. No other problems at all

Is it easy to 'drive' and fold?
It is SO easy to drive! We have the Vibe mainly because I found the Sport a PITA to fold in comparison. I take public transport (and taxis) a lot so need to be able to fold the pram in a hurry. I was always really cr@p at folding my boss's Sport. Not sure if it's just coz I'm unco or whether it really is more difficult.

No probs Kiwisj, its is a fault on the early vibes too! If the vaseline doesnt work take it back as its the fault and there is a replacement part!

SpecialK there have been a few faults on the Dash and Vibe but they are newer models and the design faults are being worked out.. you cant really do much about that. Until people are using them these types of things dont come out in factory testing however P&T have excellent customer service and will replace or repair quickly (although if you are waiting on a part it can take a few weeks for the shipments to arrive in NZ).

My Dash is sooooo easy to drive (though have not tried it with 2 babies yet) and very easy to fold.

I forgot to actually answer your questions before LOL

We have the bouncer attachment for the doubles kit which came with a head support. With it reclined there was no problem with head tipping forward not sure if it is on a steeper recline when on the buggy though, You will be able to see bubs if they are in the back to check on them as well for peace of mind.

There were some issues with the handle back in 2008 in Aussie - but that fault seems to have been fixed and isn't a problem in the newer models - good reason to buy from an approved seller as you get a 12 month warranty.

I recommend going to Baby City and having a play with them that's what I did, and had a look at all the different features etc - we didn't buy from them -as DH found somewhere online that sold the Dash for over $100 less.

I've actually just asked about these on another forum and the overwhelming majority of users admitted they had had tipping problems.

We thoroughly played with them all yesterday and found them horrible to drive and not such a fan of the handling, especially the Vibe was so big and bulky to drive. Also did not like the handbrake option, we found it fiddly compared to a footbrake, maybe you would get used to it, I don't know.

I also had the same issue I had last time I looked at P&T and when walking kept kneeing the back of the seat when fully reclined so imagine I would do the same if using it with the doubles kit.

If we need a double option I would personally either look at a MB with a toddler board or a double MB. Just my personal preference though. I agree that I would go play with them and see what you think.

Best website I found for reviews was this one... Strollers and Prams

(and not that it would help you at all but for the record we ended up buying a Quinny buzz. ).

Just had to come back and add that I was out with Callum and a girlfriend all afternoon today and my friend - who doesn't have kids and isn't "used to" pushing prams around - commented on how easy it was to drive our Vibe

Paws, what did you find fiddly about the handbrake? I find it so much easier than the Sport foot brake but haven't tried the Dash out at all, so that could be different.

If we were in NZ I would have looked more seriously at a double MB but it's just not practical for public transport. I used a double MB back home in one of my jobs too - GREAT for walking with but a PITA in many shops and impossible on the bus unless it's one of the "low floor" ones and you can get on at the back door.

(Just in case you were also looking at this option SpecialK )
