Topic: New bedtime plan Posted: 24 January 2007 at 8:28pm |
After being thoroughly sick of putting Hannah back into her room for at least an hour every night, I decided to be firm.
On trip three back to her bed, I looked her in the eye and said "Hannah, I'm going out now and I am going to hold the door handle. I'm not going to let you out and I am not going to tuck you back in, so you need to stay in bed. OK?" And I recieved a little "Ok" back.
Suprisingly enough, she hasn't come back out!
We'll see over the next few days if it works. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much!!

Stick with it. I've given my Hannah the hard word sometimes too and it does work. She has tested my word from time to time but now no probs.

he he, Paris used to do that at this age too. She would get out of bed, bring her toys, and sit on the floor of the hallway, watching us. She'd get more and more toyso ut to see if we would react. She got damn sick of us, cos we ould ignore her for a few mins, then not say a word, just go and pic her up, tuck her back down in bed and go back to what we were doing. Am sure she got mighty pissed with us.

Ohh im so in your boat at the moment! Its very hard.
I have resorted to the "naughty cage" lol if she gets up I put pieces of her cot around the edge, I know it kind of defeats the purpose but its working and she is in bed now asleep I asked her if she wanted the naughty cage and she said no and stayed in bed. All the other "tricks" and "tips" havent worked so im going with this for now.....
