Does anyone get really bad PMT? Im just trying to figure out if its all in my head or not. A couple of months ago i was really really down, this was the same time i was on the mini pill and had my period constantly for about 2 months. It was at the point where i was thinking of leaving my husband, was really unhappy etc.. and thought i would try anti depressants and see if that helps. While i was at the doctors for that i got a presciption for the combined pill. I started feeling really sick on the anti d's so stopped taking them, on the pill my period stopped all around the same time but the thing is I felt heaps better and knew i hadnt been on the anti d's long enough for them to even take any effect. Cos i was feeling so good i didnt go back to the doctor and I also didnt take the sugar pills so i didnt get my period when i should have. this month i did take the sugar pills and since the week before my period i noticed the old feelings coming back, really stressed, upset, no patience for the kids etc... anyway almost 2 weeks later i still have my period and feeling horrible. today i have just been so unmotivated and grumpy i have lost it at kobe so many times the poor wee boy. Anyway my question is, could it be the connection to me getting my period or would it just be a coincidence? can it really effect you that much?

I will be honest (and I have had friends who experienced the same thing) I actually was depressed on the pill (combined), it wasn't till I came off it that I realised I had been. The horemones are really strong and really do muck around with your body so it really is no surprise that your body has reactions to them.

Perhaps have a chat to the doctor and see if they can suggest a different pill for you that will mess with you a little less?

I agree with Sarah Beth, but have also known women who have had it really bad with their periods too (to your extent and then some), so I would get it checked out from all angles. Big hugs !

I didnt expreience the problems you seem to have with the pill but i did have a reaction where i kept braking out in all over itchiness so my dr suggested i have an IUD put in. its a contraception device that gets inserted into your cervix (they warn there may be some pain but i didnt experience any when having it put in). They only suggest it to woman with full time partners and ones with kids. it lasts for 5yrs (but you can have it taken out at anytime if you wish to have another baby before that) and its worry free! you dont need to worry about taking a pill everyday!!!! It cost $80 and my dr was able to do it (my dr was a gynocologist tho so you may have to get someone other then ur regualar gp to do it, not sure) and all it took was 15mins. May be worth looking into

I used to get a bit like that, wold be grumpy, irritable and anxious and thats how I knew AF was coming. Have only had one proper AF since the twins, so will be interesting to see if it still happens. I put it down to having dodgy mental health to start with, kind of like my depression is in remision but the extra hormone kick then gives me a little dose of it.
