Hi,

I thought I'd better introduce myself, since I've jumped in on a post earlier today. I have been hanging around this website for a few weeks and finally got the nerve to post. I have a five month old daughter who I love to bits. We are using cloth nappies and I have been buying way too many of them lately! I am curretnly on maternity leave and don't know how I'll ever go back to work in October, it will be so hard.
I hope to be posting and getting to know you all over th next wee while...

Hi Mazzy! Welcome to OHbaby!
I'm Emma and I (usually) work here but am on maternity leave till 1 March so just hang around and make a nuisance of myself I have to go back to work coz being at home gives me too much time to find new nappies to buy online...
Oh and I have three princesses - Maya Grace is 4 in a couple of weeks and the gremlin twins Sienna and Mercedes are 4 mths today.
There's an Sticky intro post on the General Board if you want to post an intro there... enjoy OHbaby!

Thanks Emma, your girls are gorgeous. I have posted a note in the intro thread in the General board too.

I should also say that I was on NZWP a couple of years ago (2004 and a bit of 2005 I think?)and recognise a few people from there.

I have been banned from buying more nappies, it is addictive! Thanks for the welcome.

ha ha! I got an ecobubs wool pocket in the mail today, it's so lovely. You'd think that would cure my nappy craving, but all it makes me do is want to buy more! Best I get some freelance work first to fund this new spending spree.

What kind did you buy? I'm excited for you! Does having twins mean you get to buy twice as many nappies? So cool!!

Yep, twice as many nappies - not bad for someone who swore she would be a flats and pins girl...

I bought them a candy stripe ecobubs wool pocket each, have heard great things about them so thought I'd give them a try. And 2 drybees in candy pink coz I love my Happy Heiny's and these look similar, and 2 pale blue Swaddlebees to try coz have heard good things about them, and 2 cream peapods coz I have 6 peapods already and now that I have got them leak-free (took a while) they are a good, trim fit on the gremlins and fit nicely in the wetbags to go in the nappy bag.

But no more nappies for this kiddy now!I think I am nappied out!

Fair enough. I have just bought a green swaddlebees nappy and washed it today so will try it out tomorrow. I haven't tried a Peapods yet, but am curious. Most of my nappies are Fuzzis, but I also use flats with Bummis wraps. I am a freak and like folding them (old school).
One of my friends is considering cloth, so I'm going to lend some to her.

Right, time for bed I think. I'm glad I posted tonight, DH is away for work - thanks for the company!

And hi Myamy! Nice to hear from you.

Welcome, Mazzy

OK I can't contribute to the cloth enthusiasm (after being sooooo determined to go cloth - until my daughter had been in newborn sposies, then I did an about-turn and now just cower in shame during cloth vs disposables conversations!).  But welcome to the friendliest forum in NZ!  OK it's the only one I've looked at, but it's still the best!

hi, mazzy, welcome to ohbaby! i'm another disposables girl, by the time i learnt about modern cloth it didn't seem worth spending all the money because i didn't think mikey would be in them long enough. but if i ever have another one it'll be a cloth baby for sure!

i'm ella by the way, i'm 20 and live in sunny nelson.
welcome!

Thanks guys, it sure has been friendly so far! And it was a very close thing with me and cloth - had my girl in disposables for the first few months before I worked up enough courage to try it. I must have an addictive personality! But I have a whole pile of disposables in the cupboard that I just can't bring myself to give away yet...

Oi! All you ladies buying Peapods and Swaddlebees - MEEEEE! I'm an agent!!! Come on... support a poor student. (Unless you are buying them from someone more worthy... which is probably the case )

Sorry. Finished.

And heyyyyyy Mazzy!!! Yes, I'm also terribly addicted to cloth despite my child being toilet trained. New Ecobubs wool pocket colours coming out and I reeeeally want a Mulberry one.
