I'm doing a bit of a clear out and don't know whether to sell my baby wrap or keep it. I know I can get a good price for it but it'd be something nice to pass on to my daughter when she has her own baby (omg eek!).

What would you do?

Also has anyone regretted selling their wedding dress?

Depends what kind of wrap. If it was something hand-knitted then I'd keep it. If it was something you bought and don't have a strond emotional attachement to, then probably move it on!

It's not hand knitted or anything like that. It's a type of baby carrier.

I haven't sold my wedding dress yet, still hasn't been drycleaned since the day I wore it. Will get sold eventually - never going to wear it again.

Id never sell my wedding dress, my mum still has hers

I wont be keeping my wrap after we are done having kids, it will get sold on.
Things like hand knitted baby clothes/booties/mittens, they stay in the family My kids have all worn stuff that my nana and mum knitted for my brothers and I when we were babies, so its really special.

Ah, if it's just a baby carrier - sell. Definitely. By the time she has kids, there will be heaps more of the market.

DH won't let me sell my wedding dress - I got it drycleaned as it the bottom of it was really dirty but have yet to get it boxed. It is hanging in my Mum's spare room wardrobe and I'll eventually get round to it.

I would sell the baby wrap, but keep other things like first outfits, first shoes, favourite toy etc.

I wont be selling my wedding dress, I need to get it drycleaned but am too scared in case it gets damaged.

I would sell the baby wrap, things will have probably changed when your daughter has kids. I'd keep clothes though as they are definitely handy.

Wedding dress - I'm not going to sell it until at least we go to Fiji / Raro or somewhere like that to renew our vows as I want to do it in my wedding dress again.

I will probably never sell my wedding dress - I remember how much I loved gettting my mum's one out when I was little. Also it was made for me as a gift, so it would be a little insulting to turf it!
With baby stuff, I'd be inclined to keep the stuff that's been made for you by family members, or things like favourite toys, first outfits etc. My mum kept EVERYTHING (chronic hoarder) and most of it i wouldn't use today coz there's just so much better stuff available now.

I don't think I'd sell my dress. I wouldn't recoup much of what I paid for it and I think it is a lovely thing to keep, even if you only bring it out to look at every now and then.

I would love to sell my wedding dress but DH won't let me. It's a Jane Yeh one that is very much of it's time now, but wouldn't necessarily work for my daughter (if we were to have one) and it was custom made. I would however keep my veil to hand down.

I plan to keep my wedding dress... Just because it will hold special meaning.

My gran lent hers to her cousin to get married in and never got it back because her cousin sold it! She was so upset!

Also with the wrap I would probably keep it, jic... Maybe.

Same!

I am going to keep somethings fto hand down to my children/grandchildren but I think they will mostly be the bassinette, special blankets etc

I say go with your gut. If you aren't sure then hang on to it, you can always sell it later

What kind of wrap is it? I've heard of people keeping Didys to pass on to their daughters, so they'll be nice and soft and broken in. I think if it's a good quality woven wrap it's a lovely idea.

Ditto to the wedding dress and the hand knitted stuff

We also have the highchair that was my Dads when he was a baby (so at least 60 something years old!)

My Mum kept her wedding dress (she wondered if I wanted to get married in it - ah no!) but she used the veil to make my First Communion dress, which was then used for the flower girl at my wedding . So I've kept my dress, but not really keeping much baby stuff beyond what I need for #2.

I wont be selling my wedding dress either. It has sentimental value and means too much to me and DH to sell it.

As for baby stuff, I say go for it if you dont want it. I will be keeping things like hand knitted things and keepsakes but other baby stuff will eventually get sold

Wow lovingmummyhood thats an awesome achievement

I always think you should keep things that are special to you. Especially to do with weddings and babies and special events like that. Money will come and go but memories like that are special.
