Topic: Early Arrival Posted: 21 February 2007 at 9:46am |
I thought I'd post a quick update - our little angel arrived more than a month before she was expected on 7th Feb!
Her birth weight was a healthy 3245 grams (just over 7 pounds I think) despite arriving at 35.2 weeks gestation! We managed to escape a visit to neonathal (sp?) and after 11 days in Akl Hospital we are finally home! And life is so busy!
I'll post more when I get a chance - in between feeding, washing, sleeping etc etc I hardly have time for anything else at the moment.

Wow, congratulations!! That is a great size for 35 weeks - imagine how big she would have been at 40! Hope everything is going well and you are getting lots of rest.

Congratulations, Pauline!! That's awesome that she's doing so well. I'm impressed by her weight for a wee one arriving a month early. Still, must've been scary. I love her pic in your ticker - what a little angel!

Thanks everyone - yes she is totally gorgeous. I'll try and post more pics later.
I'm a little worried about her weight - we checked out of hospital at just over 3kg so she's still under her original birth weight but she's eating OK so I'm hoping for a gain when we weight her tomorrow.
I'm still learning to cope with having a newborn in the house (think sleepless nights and no spare personal time) but I'm totally loving it - it's soooooo cool being a mum, eh?

Congratulations!! What a precious little girl, and an impressive weight!!. Don't worry about her weight going below her birth weight....its normal for that to happen.......however my little man has only ever put on weight since his birth lolz
