Right, so after reading good reports about the Pop-In nappies, I decided to try them out. With a night booster, and I used it for the first time last night.

This morning she was SOAKING!!! I was not impressed. In her normal nappies it's normally a leak out the leg parts a little bit but sometimes not even that.

Obviously I did something wrong...I hope I did something wrong else I'll throw a big spazzy at myself lol.

I had the outer cover, the soaker pad, and then the night booster was wrapped around the soaker pad.

Help me, please?

Thanks in advance.

How many times had you washed them before you used them? The bamboo needs more washes than microfibre to wear them in to absorb more moisture.

from what i have read, at least 4+ the more the better, i would just put it through the wash with your other nappies each time for the next week and then try again I hope it works

I have one of these too (without the night booster) but it seems to get soaking wet and leaky in about a quarter of the time that her ittis do.And when it leaks, it just flows in all directions rather than just a damp patch by her legs. I've relegated it to my "haven't done the washing so must resort to these" stash.

I hope you have better luck!

Lol!!! I'm determined to get the results that people talk about with these nappies. Especially as we couldn't afford it in the first place!! So can't put it into my "haven't done the washing so must resort to these" stash hahha

Hehe Dani, yup it will need to be washed a few more times. When we got ours, I washed it once, then stuck an extra insert that I already had folded up in the nappy for the first 5 or 6 times she wore it. Stopped leaks, and also helped with my impatientness to use it lol. After that it was fine without any extra inserts

If you soak in in water in between washes that will help to get absorbency up. I usually chuck new nappies in a bucket of water for 24 hours then wash and use. I haven't had any leaks doing this yet!

One thing to make sure of is that the inserts are tucked under the flap at the front, so that nothing is sticking out. Are they done up tight enough, so that there are no gaps around the legs?

Do you have the original bamboo or Dream-Dri version? If you have the original, maybe she needs microfibre on top to absorb a heavy flow more quickly? I have both versions, and my favourite way to use them is to wrap the night booster around the main bamboo (original version) insert, then snap on the Dream-Dri microfibre booster over top of the rest.

If all the inserts are completely soaked through, maybe she needs an extra booster insert of some sort?

Hope that helps.

Yup definately a good idea Esmesmum!

Whitewave, yup all tucked in and there were no gaps,

The nappy itself was second hand, but the night booster was new so I've washed this apprx 4 times in total now so should be alright to start using now.

Althought when I went to put the nappy together tonight I didn't know what on earth I was doing! Goodness knows how I managed it the other night!!!

Whitewave, I'm also not sure which Pop-In type it is because it's 2nd hand. Perhaps I should ask the girl.

Could someone please give me some simple instructions on how to prepare this for use at night. lol!!!

you should have the shell with two pop in boosters in an hourglass shape, one bigger than the other and the bigger square bamboo booster. pop in the big hourglass one (snaps at both ends), then the smaller one on top, and the bamboo booster goes around them (or under the smaller one and just around the big hourglass). If you want to add more absorbancy add more inserts. It should say on the label what the popin parts are made of. I hope this makes sense

Good luck! I hope it works better tonight.

Mine smells funny - any ideas? The night part and the outer are fine, it's the other two inserts. I always rinse and spin first and wash it with eco powder and used to use the canestean rinse but now just use vinegar. But neither of these tricks worked.

Any other recommendations? All my itti's smell fine and ít's been smelly for ages and washed loads.

have you tried leaving them out in the sun for a while? or a wee bit of tee tree oil? Im pretty sure your not supposed to use baking soda or vinegar on natural fibres like bamboo cause it breaks them down faster. Maybe try another washing powder for one cycle? I found that the ecostore didnt clean my nappies very well
