Topic: Swim nappies Posted: 04 November 2010 at 1:24pm |
Any recommendations?
DD frequently plays in a paddling pool at daycare. They've been putting her in disposable nappies that they provide, but she's been getting a nasty rash from them. So I've said I'll provide a reusable swim nappy for her to wear in the pool.
I was looking at bummis swimmi, but they don't seem to have great reviews, although we have success with bummis whisper wraps over her bitti boos at night.
What have you used, was it any good, and where did you get it? Thanks

Funny, I've heard good things about Bummis swimmis! I was thinking of getting one of these for Campbell. What bad things have you heard about them?

I've got one, the only problem I could see is that they can undo the velcro but that is a child issue not a item issue.
Oh & Cooper is still in a small, probably should be in a med/large but cause they are velcro it is very flexible in sizing.

I've heard a few people complain they are hard to get to stay up tight enough on skinny bubs and have had poo leaks. And other ratbag babies undo velcro or it gets snagged on things.

We have a tots bots one and that is great - does have the velcro but makes thngs easier when they do have a soild accident - never had a leak. Before this one we had a Real nappy splash wrap - was ok but velcro frayed.

I love my monkey doodlez . it's a pull-up one so no worries about DS undoing the velcro and taking it off, and it contains everything nicely. Plus, they're super cute!

We use a bummis one but haven't had any poos in the pool yet, so no idea if it will contain haha I was going to try an empty pocket nappy I have but then accidently used it, without thinking . We put all in one tog thingys over the top, so hopefully he won't ever pull off the nappy.
Funnily, the pools we use say you can't use the disposibles and want babies in cloth or just tight fitting togs.

I have a monkey doodlez too. So far no complaints, although he hasn't done no.2's when at the pool so far.
You are more than welcome to borrow mine and try it if you like T-Rex

Lost amber, I have some of those togs that cover the arms and legs, kind of like a wetsuit, but made of tog material. At the beach, she just wears these, but in pools she needs something to catch the nasties!
T that would be great - I'll have a looksie next time we hang out

Thanks Mel- you are just my baby world of knowledge encyclopaedia, i'd be so lost without you Would you take your 3 month old swimming in a heated friends pool? I would probably be very hesitant about taking her into a public pool, but feel okay about this, infact excited about this lol. Do you think 5min is a good length of time for her to be in the water?
