well have realised that my breastfeeding wardrobe leaves a lot to be desired...two tops that open under boobies to feed and otherwise all mat clothing is not suitable for b feeding....I am wandering around in sarong (which admittedly i do a lot anyways!)...but when i feed of course i am left nearly naked...
ugh im gonna have to go find some baggy t shirts etc as nothing fits or is sutiable to b feed without it coming off totally!!!
what is everyone else doing...surely we cant all be in proper b feeding tops all the time???

I don't have any "proper" bf tops... I wear baggy-ish t shirts or shirts that button up the front

I have thought alot about this, as I don't want to spend heaps of money on maternity clothes, then a heap more on breast feeding ones! I'll be interested in what people do.
This weekend gone I bought some new pjs (which I'm told I have to get out of once the baby is born and not lounge around in all day!) I bought some especially designed for breastfeeding as I thought they'd be no point in buying some more in another 5 months. So here I am, in jammys that are too big for me and my boobs could escape at any time!

I got a few breast feeding tops from www.mummymatters.co.nz
They have a heap on sale so didn't spend that much at all. Also Breastmates do them, and the mumu one is really comfy (not that I have used it for breast feeding yet).

I just wore normal clothes - and just lifted them up. I had a couple of b/feeding tops, but they were annoying as they were an odd shape, so I ended up giving them away.

I wore normal tops as well or button up shirts. Insteasd of buying breastfeeding tops I also tended to go for a strapless top underneath a normal one, so one top went down the other up and no flabby tummy on display!! BTW, you do get so much more practised at doing it without falshing everyone

i just tend to wear singlets with adjustable straps, and have them as long as i can so i can just pull them down, and then whatever top i have will just pull up. i feel way more exposed when i use button tops.
i recently bought some breastfeeding tops, and they were so fiddly and a pain in the bum to work, i just gave up. now i just hoick them same as the rest.

I have 2 singlets that are bf tops and then I just wear whatever I feel like usually just a t shirt.

I just wore normal t-shirts etc and was pretty discreet when b/f in public. Sometimes I draped a cloth nappy over my shoulder to keep the area covered.

Same! That's the beauty of having a newborn in winter, you can layer up and hide your "bits" whilst still BFing.

I wear loose t-shirts most of the time and yea it does get a bit annoying cause before I had kids I was a size 8-10 in a law office and wore some pretty styly fitted tops which still watch me from the box in the corner lol
Also while I was pregnant I bought some belly bands and I sometimes wear them under my tops so my belly's not as exposed when I'm feeding - depends on how un-loose the t-shirt is and how styly I'm trying to (pretend to) dress.
I leave button-ups for pj's only, although with my current ones I have to undo 2-3 out of the 4 buttons anyway so I kinda feel like that was a waste of time, so I'm just sticking with the t-shirt pj's now.... did I really just say I wear t-shirts all day and all night?

I just wear normal clothes now and do like Millie with the cloth nappy if I need to feed in public.
Its heaps easier than you think to be discreet about having your boobs out in regular clothes, and after childbirth I pretty much lost all my shame anyway!

i had the pull down singlet top on on weekend and flung a muslin over me in bar at lunchtime...
but gotta get used to feeding under a top then i think...most tops just arent cut out for it are they? and no button down one i have fits me right now...the BF ones i do have are fitting but undo under boobs and cup has to flap down leaving awkward to undo and do up again....
yes i guess practice makes perfect - have given into one of DHs 6xl t shrts today

I didn't read all these posts but saw Aimee's one about wearing a strapless top underneath clothes - I found that the easiest (and warmest) way to feed. As well as being cheap as you don't need to buy a whole lotta new clothes.

Get yourself a belly band then Bombshell. They're all over TradeMe (new), you can keep them around your waist (and hips) and they just help cover. But yea, practice makes perfect and your latching gets quicker with time too.

I just wear normal tops at home and cover my tummy up if there is someone visiting when I feed him. I have bought one BF friendly top for wearing if we go out. I will prob just get a belly band like BM suggested (great idea)
