Hi there
Now that the weather is hotting up, my baby is cooking in her cotton wrap. I've got some big muslin square wrap things but they are just a bit small for properly swaddling baby. Where can I get some decent-sized bits of muslin that will be suitable for swaddling baby? Are any brands better than others? I don't have a sewing machine so making my own muslin wraps isn't an option.

I got a couple from New World a couple of years ago and have seen them still there this year. So maybe try having a look in the supermarket, also I think I have seen them at BabyCity.

We made our own (my mum just hemmed the edges for me) - Spotlight has a great selection if you could find somewhere to hem them (even one of those alteration places in the mall would do that for you!).

I have seen some at Baby Factory but not sure how big they are. We found that with the muslin's because they have no "give" in them, you need to wraps to be a big bigger than normal.

We LOVE our 'Smart Swaddle' muslin wraps which are made by Living Textiles. I got a 3 pack for my baby shower and we used them so much we bought some more! They are 1.2m sq. so are big and they get a wee bit stretchy when you wash them.

Aden & Anais wraps are lovely they are huge and very soft muslin. But they are quite expensive. I was using those but found it too hot now for even muslin, so we are using "sleepy wings" from The Sleep Store and a cotton sleeping bag.

I have some big muslin wraps that I bought when I had my first bub, so 5 years ago, since she was going to be a jan baby, and they were essential for swaddling, its was so hot she was just in a nappy and a thin cotton singlet and the wrap.
I got mine from baby factory back then, but I am not sure they still have them. They have a satin trim, and were cheap too.

I ended up buying some lovely muslin wraps from the babu website on sale. They are a lovely generous size. I wrapped baby up in one of them about an hour ago and she's now fast asleep. I love it when she's like that.

A friend of mine has the Aden & Anais wraps and they are pretty nice.

oh oh....I can hear baby waking up

We went to Fiji earlier this year, and we used summer weight merino wraps. I found them a lot better than muslin for the heat. In saying that, we have aden and anais wraps which I love to pieces because they are so big and wash so well!

I brought some off trademe from the user name white84. They are fantastic as they are very large, so big infact you could wrap much older babies.
