here is my disclosure notice this is about Tampons so stop reading if you want.
Has anyone else found these really really uncomfortable after having a baby? I did end up with three lots of internal stitches so wonder if its that, or if maybe it is too soon to be using again? I dont really know. Sorry a bit personal but who else do you ask!!

hey Thunderwolves...i didnt have any stitches...but it took 9mths before they felt comfortable again

It was about 6 months for me before I could use them comfortably after having Ella.
I had a 2nd degree tear.

I didn't have a VB and I still found the horrible...the one time I tried! I use a mooncup regualary though now and it's fine...finally!

Natalie I haven't got my period back yet (thankfully!!) but was also thinking about a mooncup too but am the same as you - what if I don't like it??? Its an expensive mistake...

I mentioned the word mooncup in a conversation with DH and he turned a lovely shade of  before I'd even told him what it does.
I don't think he'll be keen for me to land $55 on one without knowing whether I'll like using it or not!
I have to admit though, the ladies on here that use them have got me interested in them, whereas I'd never have considered it before!

ooh yeah i know what ya mean- since having my oldest jade they havent felt the same- i hate them, and they dont work the same i have to use a tampon and a pad for the most of my af. i had 3 vaginal births with no stitches or tears and as far as i know i have good pelvic floors. a mooncup might be worth a try.

Not meaning to threadjack but I mentioned this in the cloth pad thread also....I've only ever heard of one person who gave up on thier mooncup totally...they take a couple of cycles to fully get the hang of but I love mine!
They are quite a bit bigger than a tampon though! 
Back to topic...in general it took me a while to be game to put anything up there...(was that said polite enough??  ) i think it must be something in the brain that stops us wanting to!!!

MyamyI too hadn't heard of these so googled it and this is what the website said
The Mooncup is a reusable menstrual cup around two inches long and made from soft silicone rubber. It is worn internally like a tampon but collects menstrual fluid rather than absorbing. Unlike tampons the Mooncup is not a disposable product, so you only need to buy one.
The Mooncup will hold 30ml of fluid, which is roughly one third of the average total produced each period. A light seal is formed with your vaginal walls allowing your menstrual fluid to pass into the Mooncup without leakage or odour. You will probably find that you need to empty your Mooncup less frequently than you currently replace towels or tampons.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I have always found them uncomfy in the first couple of days of every period. I think after 2 periods (post-birth) I'm okay. The first time I had a c/s, the second birth I had an episiotomy. We'll see how we go this time with a tear.

I don't think you are to be honest...I do know of other girls going back to using them happily enough.

After Maya it took me about 9 months to be game enough to try tampons again and they were fine. I tried one for the first time post-gremlin the other day and it was uncomfy but not painful, I think I just need to get used to it again.
Have had 3 VB's, no stitches with #1 and one stitch after #2 and 3 (who came together obviously  )

I am wondering if the problem might be scar tissue, I was filled with stitches, so will just keep trying i guess, and if it doesnt work, it doesnt work.

I havent tried tampons yet (havent got af back) but I also had 3 rows of stitches, and lets just say,...its not right up there!

I used to swear by them - I now hate them with a vengeance. will not use them unless i get caught short cos they are easier to just carry in purse. after having paris and tearing upwards, not down, as well as sideways each side.. it just hurts too much and they always always leak TMI TMI TMI. I have just found really great thin libra invisible pads and they do the trick.

Probaby way TMI
I haven't got af back yet from having Josh (and hoping she's a long way away) . I used them with the PPB as soon as I could as I hate pads.
