Hi Hopeful74
I found out I have a blocked tube when I had my HSG Xray in november. The procedure was quite painful for me as the doc tried 3 times to push the dye through to clear any blockages but it wouldent budge past 5mm on my right side, my left side was clear and the dye flowed easily through. The doc said you can still fall pregnant on one tube as it kinda takes over runs overtime for the one thats blocked.
At my review appointment with my fertility specialist, she comfirmed yes you can still get pregnant but my other tube (the blocked one) will still act normally and if its the side that releases the egg my body will just reasorb it and I will have no chance of falling pregnant that month. She also mentioned that everymonth you release an egg form one tube, but they dont swap over and take turns at doing so evenly. One can be the dominant tube 3 cycles in a row the other 2 cycles etc.
I am now on the waiting list for an diganosis LAP surgery too see whats going on in there.
There is nothing else wrong with me, I OV every month, have good hormone levels. DH has a great SA result. I was put on clomid for 3 cycles but that didnt help...I just cant get pregnant!! Grr
My FS did mention endo as a possible cause as I have painful periods but you cant tell untill you have a look inside so hopefully I get an appontment soon
Did your doctor mention surgery for yourself?
