Which detergent to use?

Which washing do the cloth nappy gurus recommend? Im using persil sensitive but I hear that's not a very good one?

I use Amolin Sensitive and Baby, it's a liquid one (some people say not to use liquid detergents on cloth nappies but I haven't had any problems with it). I just use less than you're meant to. Eg if it's a full load then I'll use the amount for a medium load, or if it's a medium load I'll use the amount for a small load. Hope that makes sense

I use Amolin too, love it. I heard the opposite, that you shouldn't use powders. Strange. I did start off using Surf Sensitive powder (only a tiny amount) but that clogged my nappies and gave bubs a rash

Im the naughty one and I use surf front loader. Your not supposed to cause it has enzymes in it, but I figure they are my nappies, and they come out not smelling of pee or stinking of laundry powder (hate that smell). I know have some Rocking Green which is fantasic, Itti Bitti brought in some, but wont be getting any more for a while- it IS the best thing to use I reckon.

I would avoid baking soda as there have been reports of it damaging bamboo fibres and the PUL...or that might've been vinegar.

ETA: I use Persil Sensitive liquid which has no enzymes and is considered ok to use with MCNs...it has optical brighteners. I'm going to get some Rockin Green when it's back in stock I think.
I also read that you should use liquid rather than powders or at least dissolve the powder well before adding it to the wash...
There are so many conflicting thoughts out there though!

I use Amolin too, its wonderful for nappies and clothes (DS has sensitive skin, and Amolin is great for everything). Am thinking of trying Rockin Green out, I figured out it will be a bit cheaper per load than Amolin (not including postage costs though).

I bought amolin today and will let you know how we get on... I put all my nappies plus inserts in a hot wash yesterday and that seemed to have gotten rid of urine smell!

Ive been using EcoStore brand washing podwer,i use it for everything my clothes, her clothes, nappies, towels you name it!

She stains her nappies (i use BabyFirst ones so darn soft on her bottom) with her poos so ill rinse off any poos and stick them in a bucket of baby napisan over night (only if stained) and then put them in a normal cold wash with EcoBrand (i never just rinse) and they come out looking new and soft smelling great.
