Just to make the TTC girls feel better about asking bizzare questions I'll ask mine.

What exactly is the pelvic floor. I know how to do the exercises etc but what is it....is it just the group of things, bladder, bowel etc or is there actually a muscle, a membrane etc?

Why I ask is that Peanut seems to have found it and is jumping on it. that is the only way I can describe it. it feels like the opposite of trying to do the exercises and it is damn disconcerting as I worry that I'm going to leak. doesnt hurt but really bothers me.

Sort of fits with the mental image I have of Peanut floating loose around my abdomin wiht a full view of all my internals "oh look, theres mummy's bladder...bounce bounce bounce...ph, her bowels...punch punch punch" I forget that he/she is enclosed in a nice little room.

my info says:
the pelvic floor is a group of muscles that form the floor of the pelvis in a sling like arrangement attatching the back sides and front of the pelvis and the surrounding openings of the V, bladder, uterus and bowel. their function is to support the pelvic organs and control bladder and bowel. during pregnancy these can become very stretched and weak so need regular exercising.

Exercise helps to strengthen the muscles providfing good support of the pelvic organs, improving bladder control, and maintaining sexual satisfaction from good muscle tone.

Hope that explains for you

Thanks Haleigh....as soon as I started to describe it to a friend I said "you know those pelvic floor MUSCLES" and thought I knew it all along.

Well that is Peanuts latest playground. As long as me exercising them isnt giving him/her a fun time like a bouncy castle.

Oh, I like the idea of exercising pelvic floor muscles to give bubs a bouncy castle! Lol! Have you had the short sharp shocks to the bladder that make you feel like you need to go toilet immediatly? Bubs likes my bladder - i think s/he is sitting quite low too, as I always feel like I need to go when I walk, even if I have just been and there is nothing left! I am not sure if that is preferable to the pain in the ribs and trouble breathing that seems to be the alternative though!

I knwo the feeling, Haleigh always thought it was funny to play on my bladder, this ones nice, although he has hit me once or twice in the bladder but nothing anywhere near as bad as Haleigh did hehe

those short sharp pains arent nice eh, i wake up most mornings with those pains then all good once gone.

id prefer the forever need to go to the loo than this rib and back pain.

Yep, I have the forever needing to pee type. And when I wake up in the middle of the night to pee my tummy is really sore till i get going. I think bubs just likes to lie in weird positions...and low.
