Topic: signature scent Posted: 19 April 2007 at 9:26pm |
ok, so even before shoes and bags, perfume is my one true love. You can look crap, but smell nice. So, what is your signature scent? You know, the one that people associate with you.
I love Dior. Love love love Dior.
Hypnotic poison Dior (red bottle) is my signature scent, I have been wearing it for years and years, about 8 I think. (before that, it was lancome Poeme) and I don't know anyone else who I hang out with who wears it. One person tried to, but someone else asked her not to, as it got her confused thinking it was me, lol!
I also sometimes wear Tendre poison Dior (green bottle), during the day, as the red one gets a bit much for day time sometimes, I swap that one for J'adore Dior just to get crazy and confuse people.
I wear Lancome Miracle sometimes instead, as my boss bought me back a big bottle when she went away to conference last year. I love it, but forget I have it.
And everyday, I wear Estee lauder Beautful, just for hacking around the house not doing anything, like some peole wear impulse or whatever, I guess. I like to smell nice.
So i currently have 5 bottles of perfume, plus a set of 5 small 5 ml diors I got for xmas from work last year.
So i guess that makes me an addict. How bout you lot?

I like floral/musky scents, I am not really into fruity smelling things.

Giorgio G is mine too Gloria! I've been wearing it for 5 years- they have this shop over here called the perfume shop and they had a sale on and the big bottles were 14 pounds so I got 6! I bought 2 back to NZ with me, one at the in laws and one at my Mums so I don't have to take perfume with me when I go and stay with them. Its the only perfume I wear and I wear it every day- haven't ever found another perfume I like as much.

Lucky they sell in 90mls, and been using the last bit sparingly. Will get uncle to get some duty free when he is over from Oz

I loved Ocean Dreams from Georgio Beverly Hills but they don't make it anymore and I lost mty bag one night and it was in there and have neither been able to replace it .
At the mo I were tommy girl I love it and the summer ck one .
On special Ocasions I wear Estee Lauder Beautiful or Gerruti Image its more of a unisex one but I love it and have been wearing it for years you only need a little bit or else it's a bit over powering.
My favourite now after ocean dreams would have to be Issey miyaki think thats how you spell it should buy a bottle havn't had any of that for ages maybe I will wait till I finish a bottle I already have.

I get terrible allergies to perfumes and scents, sometimes if someoine is wearing some near me i can go from just getting a snuffly nose to having full on sneezing, wheezing runny eyes etc. So i have to be careful what i myself use because once it's on it's hard to get back off again, i'm stuck with the results for at least a day.
I used to love body shops white musk, anything vanilla, MIL recently got me some CK one i think it is, i finally got up the courage to try it and it seems to be ok in small doses.
Mainly i just stick to body butters and moisturisers and shower gels in all the same scent to layer the scent - all from body shop - so usually am quite fruity. I love their Mango ones, and i got their strawberry one too mmm smells like hubba bubba, but have gone off it with increased sense of smell lately.
ooh and a few others i used to nick from my mum sometimes were Paris, and poison (the green one) and J'adore.. they seemed to be ok too. (must be anything slightly expensive, lol) my brother buys her the expensive stuff and she never used it so someone had to.lol instead she had this really nasty stuff called Tabu that she used to splather all over her everytime she went out - that caused serious reactions with me.
(hopefully not offending anyone who likes tabu) lol

SimSam I am quite fond of the Issey Miyake too, I always buy it for DH but have never thought of trying it myself, might be worth a shot!
