Hi,

I am needing 2 x portacots for my nearly 6 month old twin boys. I was wondering if there are any recommendations? or portacots you would stay away from?

Many thanks.

HI foxy123, we have used lots of different portacots as we travel lots and just use whatever we can, when we stay wherever we are, and we haven't found a bad one yet! Even those older ones in fluro colours are fine, as long as they are taut when made up. We do tend to add a softer mattress to them though, as the mattresses that come with portacots are so hard

I have a Roma portacot (by Jolly Jumper, from Farmers). It's easy to put up and take down, and was relatively cheap! But I totally agree with squoggs - get another mattress cos the ones they come with are basically a plank!

Thank you so much for your advice squoggs. I am looking at purchasing them for when we all go to stay at my parents so will definitely look at getting better mattresses since will be using them quite a bit.
Will also look at the Roma portacot thanks karenb_chch :)

Love my phil and teds one. So light and fits in my suitcase if needed. The mattress is inflatable but thats never worried DS and he sleeps on it 4 days a week at his carers house.

I would suggest that you look for ones that fold up smaller. Like th phil n teds, or kinder cots.
We have a standard portble thing form TBF Kingston I think, and with that and the pram and all the kisd 'stuff' there's not alot of room in the boot, so with 2 portacots, you may not have alot of room to play with.
Thats if you've got a small car though.

We have a station wagon, and one son and manage to fill the boot and back seat when we travel!! Definately go for the smallest portacot (and all other baby stuff for that matter)
