hi,
i have developed eczema since being pregnant. i gave birth 7 weeks ago and in the last 2weeks i got wat i thought was a rash startin on my breasts then moved onto my chest legs and arms.
ive never had it before and havent changed any of my body washes or any thing like that.
my doc prescribed me some soap and moisurizer and a steriod cream.
was wondering if any1 else has had this and why ive developed it now? and how long it lasted??

Sorry I can't help with your questions but just wanted to post because I found this too! Since giving birth (10 weeks ago) I have had eczema on my face and arms. The Dr also gave me steroid cream but I was bit hesitant to use it because the skin was so sensitive. My face cleared up after a few weeks without using it but then the arms started. I am also wondering if others have it and how long it lasts, haven't changed any skin products/clothes etc either. I have heard of things like that clearing up after breastfeeding is finished. Good luck with yours clearing up as it can be quite awful aye.

My eczema got worse when pregnant with #2, and hasn't got better since. I'm avoiding the creams as the worst place is around by breast and he's BF. I think part of the problem is I used to take better care of me (i.e. mosurize etc) and now I'm always in a rush.

Your body chemistry can change with significant events, or it can just change. So that'll probably be why you've got eczema now, it'll either be a reaction to an internal source or an external source, just keep an eye on when you feel that it's worse & see if you can figure out a trigger.

I used to eat capsicum every day & loved it. Something happened, and all of a sudden I couldn't eat it, it would give me major stomach pain, now I'm super sensitive to it that I can open up a can of tomato sauce and smell if it's in there!! Least for me that was easy to figure out what was giving me grief.
