Does anyone here have a Baby Jogger City Select pram? We bought one recently and love it but I'm wondering what other people are using for a rain cover? I got the one that was made for it from Baby City but I didn't like the way it fit so I returned it... Are there any other rain cover options?

Also, has anyone else used this pram for a newborn? We're planning on buying a second seat when baby #2 arrives, but I'm a little reluctant to also buy the bassinet since we'll only be able to use it for a few months. I know the seats don't lay down completely flat but maybe there's something I could put on the seat like some blankets to make it safer/more comfortable? Just wondering what other people experiences were with a newborn...

We've got that pram.

We've got the fitted rain cover, but the 'universal' cover from countdown fits too, but a bit bulkier.

My boy only fitted in the bassinet for about 4 months (He's a big boy). I did like it though. I'm not sure the seats would work for a new born, do you have a car capsule that fits on the adapter? I did get a bit of use out of that.

I really wanted to like the fitted rain cover but my son would be able to stick his hands out the sides and I think he'd eventually figure out how to let all the rain in so it wasn't going to work for us. Thanks for the recommendation about the one from Countdown, I'll have to check it out.

I keep going back and forth on the bassinet, my son was a big boy too so I don't expect to get a whole lot of use out of it hence my hesitation. We don't have a capsule that fits so I think the bassinet would be the cheapest route. I still have a couple more months to think it over...

I love my baby jogger, bought it for DS1 who was tiny when he came home as he was prem, and used it from newborn with DS2 with no dramas whatsoever. No need at all to buy an extra gadget imho.

I have the baby jogger raincover that is 4 1/2 years old too, never had a problem with it . TBH it is very rare that we are using the buggy in a huge downpour, it is usually only a passing shower, and I don't think I have used a raincover more than 10 times over the 4 1/2 years. Depends where you live I guess, but down here in Otago I don't need it

What capsule do you have? The baby factories "edinburgh" capsule fits the adapter. That's their cheap capsule think it's usually on special for around $70, I'm sure you could pick one up on TradeMe for 1/2 that.

We have a Milano capsule but was thinking about selling it depending on what we decide to do with the pram. The lady at Baby City said only the Maxi Cosi capsules fit and they're really expensive...could buy a few bassinets for that! Good to know that one at Baby Factory fits, might cost a little more than the bassinet along with the adapter, but it might be worth it since we'd be able to use the capsule longer than a bassinet... Still haven't made up my mind but thanks for your replies, they've been really helpful!

Also check out the list that baby factory has for fitting capsules (they had a long printed list at the one I went to). I know all stores differ but we found baby factory a LOT more helpful on that one. You never know, the milano might fit if you ask a different person.

eta - and you could always get them to phone the supplier and double check.
