    Posted: 14 January 2012 at 1:32pm
Having just given birth 11days ago I have a wedding to attend in just 5 weeks time. I have been searching the net to see where I can find a suitable dress to wear to the wedding that allows me to comfortably nurse my wee bundle of joy :)
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look to such an item?

Depends on how much you wanna spend. Egg maternity has some lovely dresses but can be a bit pricy. A friend of mine bought one there for a wedding while pregnant and used it heaps both during and after pregnancy

I bought a few dresses for BF'ing for summer but just went to Shanton and found stretcy type material ones that I could pull down/aside to feed. They are dresses I'd wear anyway even if I wasn't feeding, plus the added bonus that they didn't cost the earth

Max has a sale on at the moment and one of the dresses in that might do. It's a v neck dress with short sleeves and A line skirt to just above the knee. They had it in a navy / black and brown / black pattern. It's pretty stretchy so I think you could just shift the top over. I think they are now down to $39 so if there's still one in the store it might be a bargain!

If you can find a wrap dress get one, I had one from before DD and wore it all the time then when DD came along I would wear it with a boob tube underneath which I was wearing a singlet anyway so you could do a maternity singlet, then it was really easy to slide the top of the boob tube down and slip the wrap dress over.

The long line boob tubes from glassons are awesome anyway as they are great under some of your shirts that you may need to lift up to feed so your not exposing your stomach and you just slip the top down

or get a spaghetti strap dress with a cross over on the top pagani dress you can slip one side of your shoulder and you don't have to worry about it being over exposed.

Asos.com - free international shipping and the exchange rate is good. They have gorgeous maternity dresses.

I've always just done as MrsEmma suggested. Found something in a regular dress shop that would be suitable, eg. Spaghetti straps, deep v neck etc

I just went for seperates, a really nice skirt, and then a top (that I could wear a singlet or something under to cover up tummy) and then made it look nicer with a scarf/necklace or something... Then I could wear both things again, it was great- I wasn't stuck with a dress which I wouldn't wear too often :)
