Topic: Naughty Baby! Posted: 09 May 2007 at 4:42pm |
Has gone breech on me! I knew something was up, as the pressure on my pelvis has been greatly reduced since my false labour over the weekend. Over the past few nights it's felt different when I lie on my sides. I almost thought I was lying on my dressing gown cord as there was a different kind of bumpy feeling under my ribs. HIS HEAD.
So, I have a scan tomorrow at 11:30am to see if he is infact breech, my midwife is coming to re-check my BP at 9:30am as it is sky high, and I've been told that there is no way I will go past 40 weeks as if my blood pressure doesn't come down I'll be induced before the next two weeks is up or I'll be having a c-section, if he hasn't turned.
I was also sent for more bloods! The last bruise hadn't healed properly from last weeks bloods so it hurt like buggery and I ended up starting to cry. Then while walking home after that I started to cry more and now I can't stop as everything has just hit me so hard today.
BREECH! C-SECTION!! HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE!!!
Everything was great, and now right at the end things turn upside down, not to mention his head is in the wrong place.
Sorry, just had to vent.

Thanks Stacey.
I just knew something was up. I hope I can get him to turn again, but I just don't know how he managed it in the first place as there is literally no room left in there!
Naughty little boy!

Man, that sucks!!
Don't apologise for venting or crying though, most of us would do the same.
Just an idea if you are that way inclined is to check out a local chiropractor (one that can treat pregnant women appropriately) as I've heard that they can in some cases help to turn the baby. My chiropractor went to a course about it recently. If you are keen I would perhaps research it more, but it does exist :)

oh crap, just when you think baby is coming on out, he decides to not only stay but to turn around too!
Good luck with scan tomorrow and your BP, will be thinking of you....unless of course my baby decides to actaully turn up then I may not be thinking of you quite all the time but i have not got any high hopes of that happening anytime soon

Aww man what a ratbag... hang in there, I'm sure that you and baby will be fine.. and you never know he might get bored laying that way around and may move for you when you least expect it.
Put your feet about and relax and I hope all goes well tomorrow and make sure to keep us posted.

www.spinningbabies.com is mostly about posterior babies, but has a link for breech and trying to turn them. worth a look anyway! Also try heat down one end and cold up by the ribs, that can get them to turn.
If it is any consolation, a friend was booked in for a csection on Moday due to a naughty breech bubs, went in and then low and behold bubs had turned at the last minute and she gave birth naturally that day!
So fingers crossed for you that bubs turns back and that your BP comes down for you soon!

That must be so stressful for you! Especially after false start of labour the other day . Briona did that to me too, she did end up turning to the right place on her own (38wks), here's hoping your little boy will too.
A c/s isn't all that bad, but the uncertainty of c/s or VB beforehand drove me nutty. If you're really freaked out about c/s you could ask your mw if you can do trial of labour first, breech delivery is not unheard of. Footling breech (foot presenting instead of bum) is the most unrecommended position.
Your BP is actually the biggest concern, hope you get a good result tomorrow - do let us know!

Naughty, naughty boy! Here's hoping the scan shows your midwife got it wrong and himself is still head down. And fingers crossed on the BP thing too.
C/S or not, one way or another your wee man will be here soon, and as long as he's healthy the rest of it is all small fry.
Thinking of you!

Oh honey, that sucks. I hope things are looking up tomorrow.
I had an induction at 38 weeks for high BP at Waikato and am more than happy to talk you through what happened so at least you have some idea of what it could be like. Have PM'd you.
Try to get some rest and take a deep breath and give your baby a belly rub, you have each other and it will be ok.

A stubborn little monkey! He is going to want to do everything HIS way isnt he? Best of luck, hopefully he will give in and realise it is easier to come out the other way round.....mind you he is male and i'm thinking about men asking directions, and all the comments about sperm not knowing which way to go.....
