Topic: I can hardly walk Posted: 10 May 2007 at 9:45am |
I woke up this morning, had to somehow manouver(sp) myself out of bed as my pelvic area is so totally sore its hard to move, and walking OUCH!! hurts real bad.
I swear I never got this bad with Haleigh.
Nothing seems to be working to make it better

I'm getting a real bad pain in the middle of my pelvis. Only hurts when I walk or move. I suspect it's a knee though.

No worries :) It is diff something to tell the m/w, she can refer you to a physio, who in my opinion cant do much lol as they say you need to actually stabilise your pelvis not mobilise it, so that cuts out alot. And they will fit you with a belly belt, this gives me some relief if im going to walk to playcentre or stand for a while. The physio will talk you through how to get in the car, in and out of bed, rolling etc. and give you some very light simple stretching moves that help sometimes.

PS, a good way to see if you have it in the front joint is to lay flat and with a flat hand apply presure to the front of your pelvis, if this sends you through the roof you diff have SPD in your front joint.

I had a belly belt with Haleigh from the physio from about 30wks but wasn't for anything like this my back-up just gave me one because of fluid retention and it really helped, was great in labour to, and excellant for walking and after the birth, I loved my belly belt.
I will call Jenny this morning (at a bit more of a respectable time hehe) and get it sorted, sucky thing is I dont drive and ahve to walk everywhere and playcentres 30min walk away with coming home up a hill .

I told my MW about this last time and she wasnt concerned about it - she said that its normal and is most likely just the baby pushing down on top of ligaments stretching

I had this with the latest baby....it got so bad that I ended up sleeping in a reclining chair for months. It was okay when I kept moving around, but you can't really do that and sleep at the same time. Stairs became impossible. Getting in and out of the car nasty. There wasn't anything that could be done for mine, but a friend that had the same thing said that her osteopath made a HUGE difference. The good news...mine went away within days of giving birth...so at least it was temporary
