Topic: TT & long trips Posted: 16 May 2007 at 12:30pm |
Not too sure how we are going to get round this one, Ashlyn has TT herself over the past few days, she is doing really well. We have the occasional accident when she is 'busy' playing & still wont do poos on toilet.
My delima is we are travelling up to Nelson tomorrow which will take bout 6hrs, will it confuse her too much if I put a pull up on her 'incase of accidents'. I am taking mum up to & my sister & nephew so don't want to be stopping too much on the way. We will be stopping for lunch & stuff but not sure if this will be enough.

Does she have a nappy at night? You could use one for the trip "in case you want to have a sleep".
Otherwise you'll need to be a super-onto-it-mum with a potty handy for emergencies and lots of stops. I'd try to avoid the have-to and stress surrounding that if I could. My preference would be nappy on for the trip but still toilet her at lunch and on arrival. Play it by ear after then but be careful for her being overtired and/or distracted.

i would go the nappy - when they sleep they often have wee accidents and you'll end up having to stop and clean up more than you want.

I think a pull up will be fine & might save big accidents.
Have a great drive

The pull up will be fine, you can keep on with the toilet training when you arrive in Nelson. If you really want the knickers on, put a towel underneath her in the carseat just in case.

Thanks Ladies for your replies, yes busymum, she is still in nappy at night & she should have a sleep also. I was thinking that a nappy/pull-up would be the way to go. Def do not want to have to stop anymore than needed
And thanks Glow I enjoy driving so hopefully it will be a good trip

If you didn't want to go with the pull up idea then I definitely suggest taking a potty... I travelled back to Rotorua when Han was mid-TT and she wouldn't go on the side of the road!! It drove me nuts... luckily she hung out til we made it to the next stop.
