Topic: MORE Gigantababy DRAMA. Posted: 18 May 2007 at 3:12pm |
OK, so I'm waiting for hubby to get home again so that we can race back up to the GPs. The house now smells of cooked liver (blergh) but Connor ate well at lunch time. All going to plan...right up until bath time when I went to change his nappy and RED stuff everywhere. The little guy has poo-ed blood. So....off to the doctor again. This isn't the way to get his haemoglobin(sp) up... Will hopefully have good news about it being a freak unrelated incident soon...though he isn't constipated and the poo has been flowing freely, so I wouldn't have thought it was hemorrhoids.

he only had the liver an hour ago, so I don't think it has made it through (and was mainly liver juice/gravy with vegetables) - definitely blood - about a tablespoon... still waiting for hubby - he has 3 schools to go past and it's just after 3pm...darn Aucklanders that don't make their kids walk.

Oh deary me. The little one is giving you quite the run around isn't he!!
I remember Ana freaking out when Joey had blood in nappy... it turned out to be part of his dairy allergy. Isn't Gigantababy dairy or something allergic? Could he have got some kindly given to him by big bro??

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

nikkiwhyte is on the money once more....it turns out that the milk allergy that they had 'cleared' him from four weeks or so ago possibly isn't that 'clear'. So he's now on the pept-not-a-real-food-formula and has to have more blood tests. Which as horrible as it is, is a heck of a lot better than some of the things going through our heads earlier. Thanks for all of the support - it means a lot!
Oh- and on a side note - tonight we were supposed to have gone to see Ed Byrne (Auck. Comedy Fest.), so babysitter cancellation, $90 worth of tickets and a WHOLE other adventure. *sigh* kiddles.

Glad to hear the doctors agreed with me.
Nah, glad it was an easy fix. Hopefully he'll grow out of it sooner rather than later. As far as I know, Joey can have dairy now (hrmmm maybe?) and he is a similar age to Zaara, so 18 months.
Sucks about Ed too... would have been good to escape sans-kiddos for a while.
