Chasity (17 monthhs) has just started to put her finger soo far down her throat that she is making herself sick.

It's scary!
We have tried to stop her do it. But she still does it.

We dont know why.

Any thoughts?
Has anyone else had or has the same or similar problem?

We are at a loss here.

Experimentation? Perhaps give her something else to chew on... like a carrot stick.

Good luck!

I've tried to take her mind off doing it. Reading to her playing with blocks. Hiding out in a tent. She still does it.

Did you mean you hiding in the tent? If not, then I suggest trying that... otherwise if you did mean you and it still didn't work, then perhaps try further afield.. hiding the next block over?

Sorry... I'm terribly unhelpful. Here's hoping it's a shortlived phase.

I found McKayla puts her whole fist in her mouth while teething (molars.) Is that perhaps it? She did it a few times and also almost puked. Teething rusks helped a lot with it and a really nice teething ring as well.

Maybe you could give her something more interesting to do with her hands? Stickers or a stamp might distract her from wanting to shove her fingers down her throat.
I'm grasping at straws but it did work for my Ella when she started showing signs of munching on her nails.
Good luck!

Hey nikkiwhyte, yeah we played hide and seek kind of in the tent. Kept her busy for about 15 minutes. Its fun ay.

Smoody, All her teeth are through. I just wish she wouldn't do it.

caraMel I try to get her to do something else.
I guess we are just going to have, keep on tring to keep her busy until this "phase" where's off.

Thank you guys for your advice.
