I just have to let everyone know what an aweful company they are! Their customer service has been shocking and we have been without internet for 10 days (just got it back yesterday).

All this started when we called to transfer our home line over to them (we already use them for internet), ever since then we have been given the run around and haven't had internet since 13th May, we have spent every night on the phone to them, waiting up to an hour to get through only to be told a different BS story each night. Yesterday, when I had finally had enough of being fobbed off over the phone I sent them a 3 page complaint detailing EVERYTHING we had gone through, all the stuff ups and the rubbish we had been told and said that they should get back to me by 4pm or else I would take it further to the media.

That was at 10am yesterday morning - I have only just recieved a call from them tonight with the whole "oh we're sorry about that the staff should have known better yadda yadda" and that's it!
So I emailed my complaint letter to Fair Go and to PC World, they should be very interested as Slingshot have just won an award for best ISP in NZ

I've requested that we be released from our contract so that we can take our business elsewhere, BUT "Mr Slingshot" hasn't got the authority to agree to that so we have to wait until tomorrow afternoon to get an answer!

They'd better not say no!

Hey Toni, you might want to give Gen a buzz, as I'm sure she has had a similarly crappy experience with Slingshot. Sorry to hear that you had to go through all that, I would be pretty grrrrr at them too !

Whenever anyone asks me or DH (who works in IT) which ISP to go to we say anyone so long as it's not Slingshot. They are cheap for a reason in our opinion and I've never known anyone who has gone with them that has been happy with what they have got.

Yep we will join the bandwagon. We had an awful experience with slingshot, 10 days to get connected for broadband and then slower than dial up speed for 6 weeks. We left them for Orcon and waited 12 hours to be connected and have absolutely no problems at all.

We are currently fighting slingshot as we refuse to pay there bill based on the fact they didn't provide the service we subscribed to. And it looks like it may be off the court. It's not a lot of money but purely the principal of it!!

Hmmm... I didn't think we would be the only ones

We've never had any issues with the product - just their customer service
