Ok, I made an earlier thread about being made redundant as of the 27th of July 2007. And I am due approx 28th of December 2007.

Now, I have decided that I really don't want to temp in admin. I'd really love to get involved in some form of early childcare. What process did some of you stay-at-home-mums do to be able to do home based childcare etc etc.

Thanks :)

Tara

Well to be honest, you have the perfect due date to get involved in home based childcare as the potential children would be at home with parents over that period!

You'd be able to easily get a job nannying school kids over the holidays as many parents continue working and they aren't so hands on as a young child would be, so being heavily pregoo wouldn't be so hard.

But... that leaves the July - December period. Hrmmm.

Have a look on the PORSE, Barnardos, and Home Grown Kids websites to get an idea about what is involved.

Thanks for that Nikki. It's just something I've always been passionate about doing but never had that push to do it. Wanted to take childcare at High School but it classed with some of my big subjects so it was a no-no.

What better time to do it when you have your own baby as well.

:)

I was also going to suggest PORSE - I know they train carers.
