im pretty sure you CANT take disprin, or anything with asprin in it.
i think the only thing you can take is panadol. but my advice would be to check with a phamasist, they are great for giving advice, and may be able to offer a liquid form of panadol or pamol, like they have available for kids, but i am 99.9% sure you CANT take asprin or disprin while your preg.

Good luck and i hope this helps :)

Congrats Sheza! I must have missed your announcement. Hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months.

I was told no on disprin as well. My friend is like you with pilss and she crushed up her panadol tablets and stirs them into a glass of orange juice. Maybe you could try that?

I am another one that will not swallow pills at all!

Panadol is fine during pregnancy, just pop them in your month give them a quick chew and wash down with some nice orange juice or something

Congrats!!! Thats seemes to have happened fast..how exciting. I am 99.9999999999% sure you cant have disprin as it is asprin related and that thins your blood. Panadol is safe.

as for swallowing, I was recommended to put under your tongue then drink and it automatically swirls up and down and you cant taste it.

ewww yuk, crushed panadol!! I think having that as a kid (12yo or so) is what made me get a high pain tolerance

Have you tried the panadol capsules, they are smooth and long and skinny instead of the round dry ones which get stuck. I can get them down every time

I too can't swollow pills - anything the size of the contraceptive pill is ok, but slightly bigger just won't go down. Think in my case it's all in my head! So I've always been one to suffer in pain, due to not being able to take pain relief!

Like catrad I have in the past bought the panodol capsules & opened them up & poured the powder into a drink. And the Dr's have prescribed me liquid panodol as well which has been great!

My babies:

R (9),G (7), J (5)

Hi Sheza, congrats on your pregnancy, as the others have said disprin is pretty much a nono, but thought I might add - have you tried the liquid panadol - like you give to children? Or when we were little my mum used to crush up a panadol and mix it into a teaspoon of honey. I sympathise with you - I suffered from them too while I was pregnant (and Miagraines), its aweful. Hope you get rid of them soon

I've had issues swallowing pills and was told by my doc that it is purely mental. Your body gets tense at the thought of having to swallow pills because of how hard it is and it tenses up your throat and makes it near impossible to get it down. Since learning that I've kinda figured out how to get most pills down now.

I think swallowing pills is a mental thing. I have been known to swallow my elevit pill without any liquid. I just dont think about it Im glad you asked this question Sheza as I too was wondering what was OK to take.
