I've noticed a few products out there for bedtime baths (Ecostore and J&J are the ones that come to mind).

Are they any good? Or a total waste of money?

Just starting to stock up on baby toiletries now, so I'm intreagued to hear what people think.

in my opinion they are a total waste of money...you may find people give you this sort of stuff as gifts as well. A baby doesnt need perfumes and chemicals etc added to their bath or even soap in the form of bath wash. They can dry out the skin and deplete your babies natural oils...

i do use them now however...the kids are nearly 2 and 3.5 and i use bath wash in their bath now instead of soap.

I just use ordinary olive oil on a flannel for the reasons GandT mentioned. We got given heaps of wash and lotion as presents and it just dried Fays skin out

We use the JandJ one on Andrew but not yet on Josh (for the reasons given above and also as the dr has given us some other stuff to use for his small skin problem he had). You can buy them now and wait to use them (I did this and i'm glad I did), I only brought them on sale (so around $5 for a 200ml bottle).
I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I used the J and J one when I was pregnant with Maya and haven't been able to use it since coz it triggers memories of how nauseous I was, we have been using J and J Soothing Naturals tho with good results.

we have used J and J since Ella was born and recently used the new bedtime one....we have also massaged her after a bath since she was born too...and used the J and J on her hair also....

in our experience (everyone is different tho) - Ella has had no cradle cap, no skin problems, and sleeps really well after a bath....

I love the soothing naturals....love the smell and pinch it for myself often!!!

My boys are HYPER after bath time, so no, it didn't work at all. BUT I liked the smell. Now I use huggies bath wash as I find it doesn't make Taine's skin so dry, but I honestly don't think they make much of a difference.

I use J & J with lavender bedtime bath, more so cause I like the smell of it more than it cleans and makes him sleep so well. I too do not have problem with Rhyleys skin drying out or cradle cap, but with my daughter I had to use nothing or emolsofying (sp??) lotion as she has ezcema - and sensitive skin when she was a baby. (she still has it).
