We're trying to figure something out... Nat has been offered a job at Taita College... we don't know what to do!

I know you guys can't tell me what to do, but talking it out might help me stop going around in circles.

Technically Lower Hutt, but actually right on the border between Upper and Lower.

The problem is, we just don't know how we could actually manage to shift. If money was no object, we'd more than likely move in a heartbeat. We can afford to live in Wellington... it would be tight, but we can manage. It's getting there, and getting into a place that is tripping us up right now.

you won't know if you don't go! there will be struggles, sure, but in the end, it's bound to be an excellent move. You will sort something out, I am sure... (get listing those santa sacks for some extra $$!!!)

They do Liz, but only in specific circumstances: the first full-time permanent position (which is why they paid for our shift here); any position taken with a promotion; going to an area school; going to/from a school in a high priority staffing area (that is, a district they struggle to retain staff in)

We don't quallify this time.

Do you own your place at the moment? We looked at a Wellington job at one point and were considering renting short-term in Upper Hutt (similar prices at that stage to Palmy) until such time as we could buy another home. (Once we had settled and got a feel for good areas and good prices and commuting distances etc).

If you can afford to live in Wellington, then it would be easy to live in Upper Hutt IMO (talking prices here). Can you borrow some money for the move and pay it off by the difference in housing price?

It sounds very exciting. You say you'd do it in a heartbeat if money was no issue. So if the job and the move is that exciting and feels that right, yep, I'd do everything in my power to make it work. Do you have much financial/moving support from family/friends?
