Topic: I cannot believe it! Posted: 21 June 2007 at 8:52am |
When Nat accepted the job at Taita, they asked if we needed any financial help to shift. He told them that we didn't expect it, but any help would be great. Last night they came back with an amount that blew us away! With respect for the school, I'm going to keep the actual amount confidential but lets just say that knowing our estimate for shifting and set up costs (as in, what it will cost to secure a house) they have offered to pay a generous proportion!

Its so fantastic! It really does take a load off, as this means we don't need to borrow as much as we first thought to shift... so I'm planning on using a little of the loan we've organised to get Nat some new work clothes and shoes (the ones he's got are okay, but are starting to look a little worn)
I honestly was thinking that if they did give us some money, it probably would be enough to put us up in a motel for a couple of nights, and cover petrol costs, while we found a house! I so did not expect the generousity they have shown us merely because I knew it was coming from the school not the MOE so budgets are tight.
The school was going to reimburse Nat's petrol costs from the interview... they've also reimbersed for the hotel he stayed in the night before! We were so impressed when they offered - Nat staying in Wellington was our choice, and we weren't even going to ask! All of this has really boosted Nat's confidence - we really feel like Taita is going above and beyond to get him working for them!
