Topic: Size Query Posted: 03 July 2007 at 8:25pm |
I have finanlly received my money so i'm off to but a set of nappies for Josh. However he is a little long boy. Currently 6.5kg with a 39cm waist and his thighs are 22cm. Stacey is going to try some Tweedles on him tomorrow and I am going to get a Fuzzi person around at some stage. Would he be a medium? or should I get some smalls and mediums? I'm thinking he'll be a medium because of his weight but there may be gaps around his thighs.
All advice taken.

From his measurements, I would recommend medium size Fuzzis so that you get the best wear out of them (i.e. be able to use them longer).
They might be a bit big around his thigh but you can just stuff them with inserts/prefolds until he's a bit bigger and they fit better.
Best to get a Honey Child Agent round to do a proper fitting though to be sure

I would suggest medium FB because if he doesn't fit them he will soon. Krystiana is bigger but she changed from sm to med at 4mos, mostly due to her chubby thighs. If you get small now you probably wouldn't use them for long enough before needing to upsize.

My daughter is about 6 kg and I started with Medium Tweedles thinking they would be fine as they start for 5.5kg and that she would grow quickly. But I have ended up having to buy smalls as well because she was leaking several times a day even with huge amounts of stuffing - and lots of stuffing can actually make the gaping worse. I think she has quite skinny legs!!
I recommend getting the proper fitting to be absolutely sure before you buy anything.

Becks you should have said. You could have tried one of Andy's Fuzzis on today. Thanks for your help btw. Am very seriously thinking about buying more Fuzzi Bunz

Like Betty Boop said (love the name! ) just because the size chart says a certain weight/thigh size doesn't necessarily mean that nappy will fit your child as all babies are different. So it's always best to get an agent around to double check on sizing.
According to the Fuzzi size chart, Caitlin should be in larges, but she's still in mediums and has heaps to go in them even though she has big thighs.

Would you believe he is in between a small and medium. He's long and skinny, smalls fit him great but are to short for him. So i'm going with mediums as i'll get better use out of them and better value for money. So now i'm off to order them and more material for mummy to make some more as well.

We have medium Fuzzis that we started when my daughter was about 5mths and we are still using them on the second clip on the bottom and she is 15mths now so they were well worth the money we spent on them

I ended up ordering 6 medium Fuzzis and 6 medium Tweedles. I got the Tweedles on Tuesday and he started wearing them yesterday and they were a good fit when adjusted. Now i'm counting down till I receive my Fuzzis and all my extra nappies my sister managed to score for me at the nappy sale in Wellington.
