Poor Abby, Last Tuesday she had a temperature and stuffy nose, which made her grumpy and sleepy not to mention off her food. That lasted until Friday when she started to pick up a bit. Now since Saturday she has a hacking cough and sounds like a 160 year old smoker, she was only coughing every now and then on Saturday and yesterday, but last night she came into our bed and was miserable, it keeps waking her up and it sounds so bad. So we are off to the doctors today to get it checked out.

I figured last week was a virus and thought maybe the cough was part of that, but she sounds really chesty and at five am this morning had a coughing fit and nearly threw up so I'll be on the phone dead on 8-00am.

It doesn't help that mum is full of a cold and not really in the mood to look after a miserable child as well.

It's going around.. we've just had a cold/flu/high temperatures etc.. and I've been here with Ella for the past 2 weeks while DP is overseas. The cough was pretty bad but luckily it didn't take too long to clear up.

If she isn't sleeping at night, try dimetapp/durotuss (not sure of sp). Lemon and honey drinks for her throat (Ella likes the syrup you buy, Barkers) made with hot water and honey. Lemonade iceblocks to suck on too..

other than that, you'll just need to wait it out.. hope you both get better soon!

Thanks, I haven't had a cold etc for over a year so I shouldn't complain to much. We have a doctors appointment at 11-00, I want to get her chest checked as it sounds very rattly, but not sure if it's just in her throat.

The weather does not help though yesterday it was hot today it's raining and cold.

My niece and brother have had it for over a week now as well. Poor little girl looked absolutely miserable with it when we saw her on Saturday.
Hope she (and you!) are feeling better really soon!

Well we went to the docs this morning, and her chest is a bit rattly, but not enough for anitbiotics. So we have to go back on Thursday so she can check it again.

Abby just tried to have a sleep but kept waking herself coughing. She is currently walking around with her little sicky bowl as when she coughs she gags.

Janine lol at the thought of DH with a teddy bear hottie!

Good luck at the docs James.

So do I, the poor thing we got about an hours sleep last night because she would go to sleep, cough then gag, I felt so sorry for her. Today she has fallen asleep three times and has woken up after 5 minutes coughing and has twice been sick.

So if it continues we are back to the docs tomorrow, her temp has come back it's sitting on 38.5 even with pamol, and I'm a little concerned about her breathing, it's quite fast and she grunts every now and then. Although knowing me I am probably over reacting but still she's my baby.
