Having a wee pity party at the moment as I am feeling sicker than ever. It comes and goes which is good, and I take full advantage of when my tummy is settled to fill up. However right now I'm trying to distract myself from the feeling of wanting to throw up... normally I'm just queasy and can lie down or have water to ease it, but not this time
Also, this might or might not be TMI, but does anyone have any tips for gas?
Can't wait until the second trimester, hopefully things wear off a little by then...

I found for my queasness, that sweeps dry lemonade, that was slightly flat, or sweeps dry ginger ale was good.

Strange but true i also found walking around outside for a few minutes helped as i breathed deep.

 Poor thing, hang in there.

I swore by macs ginger beer and lemonade iceblocks, and as above, walking in fresh air, in thru nose out thru mouth. I also felt better if i battled down something starchy (Dr reccomended that) like toast in morning, washed down with a berrocca, and tried to have something in tummy at all times - feels worse when you're hungry!
No tips for gas, sorry, i just took full advantage and let rip (sorry, TMI, I know!) grossing hubby out!!

taking advantage of filling up could be the prob too - sometimes it's batter to just snack out through the day and keep your tummy a little full instead of having big meals - sometimes you can get low in energy and blood sugar levels can drop which can make you feel queasy too - so like someone else said - carbs are good cos they give you lots of energy to run off for a while.

like everyones said lemonade ice blocks, or make up raro in a sipper bottle, half strength, and freeze it and take that with you, it's always nice and cold and it's melts slow enough to stop you from being able to guzzle it and make your tummy so full you feel ick. (the nicest juices i found for doing this were the vitafresh ones in melon or strawberry...mmmm yummmy!)

I found flat ginger ale was good, and also yoghert worked for me to settle my stomach.

Like Janine said, snacking and small meals often seems to be better than one or two bigger meals.

I had it the worst through december last year, coupled with working in stinking hot weather and it being the craziest time of the year... last christmas was not fun for me! It's all good, though, when it goes away, then you have the next thing to look forward to, which is feeling them move, its awesome! Feels alot like bubbles in your tummy at first, or being tickled. Now when my timmy rumbles, i kid myself thats a bay moving inside cos that what it feels like! Yay!

Lemonade iceblocks did it for me. And the gingernuts, like everyone else has said. And I found that chewing gum (Extra sugarfree) helped with the metallic taste in my mouth that made me feel queasy too.

I say Maxolon all the way baby!! For me, nothing worked - and STILL getting the occasional day of extreme nausea and horrible power chucking. Does tend to get worse when my tummy is empty, or when tired. Little amounts of boring food, eaten often seems to help - chopped up carrot, apple, nectarines, grapes are good, as are muesli bars and plain biscuits. Try to avoid things that are too fatty/greasy or spicy. Watered down apple juice is good, as is water with some lemon in it. If it gets too much though, talk to your midwife or GP, as there are medical alternatives (anti-nause tablets) that they will prescribe if you are too sick (hyperemesis graviardum). Dehydration is dangerous and if you can't keep anything in you run the risk of having to be hospitalised which is not nice. Good luck, I really feel for you

Thanks for all the advice everyone, so far I can say that ginger ale, gingernuts, rice crackers, and apple juice have been my savior !

I was away until today on a trip to Hamilton with my work training stuff, and it really was a challenge. We were supposed to be eating at the hotels in house restaurant if we wanted work to pick up the tab, but the food was AWFUL and the poor service didn't help.
I tried just to 'snack' as much as possible, but sometimes my appetite was completely non existant. The long days weren't that great either, as I wasn't able to nap at all, the sickness got worse when I was really tired.
Defintely staying aware of my limits and stuff though, if I'm full I won't go on and gorge myself or anything, but as far as what I feel hungry *for* I usually just go for it. Haven't had any bizarre cravings yet, but have been really keen on eggs, and spaghetti bolognaise !
If it gets too too bad I will get in touch with my doctor, as I was reading about hyperemesis gravidarum the other day. Being in hospital would be bad

Glad to hear you've found some little tricks to help with the nausea One very important thing is to keep your fluid intake up, even if you are just vomiting it out straight after - some will stay in. I ended up on a fluid drip a couple of times as I was severely dehydrated. You know when things are not too good when your pee looks kinda like fanta
