Yep we were on one vehicle until last November, and Hannah turned 3 in December. I feel for ya! Isn't the sun shining up there today though? Can you walk anywhere?

I can sympathise too -- we didn't have a second car until Em was 8 months old. DH worked from 7am to 6pm so I was home alone for ages. The only thing within walking distance was Foodtown, so I used to wander up there several times a week just to avoid boredom! How sad is that? "Come on, Em, let's go to Foodtown and walk around!"

Uhh, how is that relevant to this thread? Of course I have car seats! I don't have a car because it's just not in the finances right now - big deal? A doctor doesn't have to have an illness to be able to diagnose and treat something (so doesn't make what he has to say less valuable).

Eek, will remember not to vent here when I'm feeling down, already made a bad week even worse. Thanks any way Katherine and Busymum

ETA: We do actually have a car, but my husband uses it for work and yes, have car seats too.

I hear ya!

I'm not going to be able to get a car until next year sometime. Its not so relevant at the moment because I'm still learning to drive, its just taking so darn long!! DH promised he could teach me everything I need to know, which is awesome, but we NEVER have time without the kids for lessons!
I so sick of being stuck at home all the time, thank goodness the weather is picking up so we can go out of the house at least!
Its so horrible when you do make the effort to go out only to spend the whole time there dealing with your tantying kids huh?

Hope you're having a better day today chick!

I totally understand the 1 car thing. We had 1car for a long time and we have now only just got a 2nd one and it is so much better. Hope you get another one soon.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I thought it was a touch ironic too GandT, but then Supernanny doesn't have any kids, and no body questions her expertise.

Whereabouts in Auckland are you? Have you thought of using public transport? Do they still have those Links buses that go direct to the shopping malls.

During the day they're probably not very busy anyway, so would only be bothering the bus driver and some deaf elderly person if your kids decide to throw a tanty.

I'm sorry? I'm not sure what I've done to warrant that attitude but if you have a problem with me, please PM me and not bring it up in forums. A totally unecessary reaction.

Yeah, but at least you have good company from time to time . And didn't I promise to take you out somewhere next time we come over?

I couldn't live without my car. I was forbidden to drive for 5 weeks at the end of my pregnancy and I hated being so dependent on Willie and my friends to take me to appointments etc.

We only have one car at the moment too. Until recently hubby took the ferry into town. Then bought a scooter but it would only arrive in 35 days so he started taking the car. (lazy to wake up a bit earlier) So then the time came for the scooter to be here and the guy doesnt call Grant back. Finally he answered us to say it will be another 22 days. Yesterday Grant got a loan scooter so now at least I have my car back.

I feel for you CRS. I hate not doing the shopping in the week and freeing up weekends. And then some weekends we cant really go far as he is on call.

Where in Auckland are you? Perhaps some of us can visit you or something?
