we had the weirdest rendition of Hairy tonight.

"and hercules morse as big as a horse"
"NOOOOOO MAMA"
"jake what's wrong?"
(in between sobs)"no....a...horse...mama......doggie"
"yes, sweetie, I'm not saying he is a horse, but just that he is the same size"
"NOT A HORSE MAMA"

repeat, every time I read that line.
"sweetheart, it's a simile, you see.." (insert blank look from child)

"and muffin mcclay like a bundle of hay"
"NOT HAY MAMA. IT A DOG!!!"

then, i read the "scarface claw, eeeeyowwwww fitz" and did my best cat impersonation, and Taine burst into tears and hid under the table and cried his little heart out.

we gave up. no more hairy. I didn';t realise it was such a traumatic book.

Haha! Isla loves the Hairy books! We have lots! Today we went to the local market, and I picked up a Hairy video for $3! Played in while Isla ate dinner,...she was sooo transfixed, that she actually ate heaps! Woo hoo! First time shes eaten anything much for dinner in weeks!

Aw that's so funny,

We love the cats stories and have a book with the collection of the cat ones like slinki malinki etc, would love to get another collection one but they are fairly pricey!

We did though, manage to score a hairy maclary board game today for $11. he he, came with a free colouring book. got it to the counter and they had put the wrong price on them, so we got it for the $11, instead of the $20-something it was supposed to be. Paris thinks it's great cos we are forever getting the hairy maclary books from the library.

but, ooooh poor Taine, Obviously mummy was a scary scarface claw.
