We are wondering if Daniel is teething already (eeeeeeeeeeek!!! lol)..

He is:
- dribbling way more than normal
- biting and chewing anything he can reach and when there isn't anything in his hands he chews them instead.. and he's doing this constantly
- late this morning he started getting nappy rash (first time ever)
- hes grizzly
- when we look at his gums (DH did a better job at this than me) it looks like one of his top eye teeth (where it would come through) it's a bit bumpier and whiter than the other side..

Does this sound like teething to you guys??

my daughter got her first tooth (well teeth) at 4 months old. So its not unusual to start the teething process round Daniels age. The teeth can take a while to come thru. Rhyley has 2 teeth but hes been 'teething' the top two for so long I get the feeling they will never come thru

I don't want my bubba to get teeth yet *pouts*.. he still has an annoying habit of chomping down on my nipple when breastfeeding.. can't imagine what that would feel like with teeth *cringe*

Hi Stacey, Kryssi went through a chomping stage (chomp and pull - eek!) at Daniel's age and has recently cut her first tooth but is no longer chomping, yay! I cut my first teeth at 3 1/2 mos so definitely possible. It may be that they are still moving around in preparation. The bumpier and whiter bit sounds promising, as with the rash unless he has eaten anything different (or you have)? The munching and dribbling is normal for any baby his age, it's their #1 way of exploring new tastes and textures.

Olivia got her first tooth at 3 months old. In saying that though it is not very common for children to have teeth so early, however it is more common for children to teethe early and just have the darn things move around and create a whole load of hell.
Hope your man feels better soon.

Hahahaha He's going to beat Josh to teeth . Josh has been teething (as in doing a lot of the thigs you've listed above) and has a pathetic bit of white tooth showing through (I haven't even recorded it as his first tooth yet).

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Sam has cut his first two teeth in the past week. They are the bottom front two and they have come right through and are growing rather quickly! Can't put my fingers anywhere near his mouth as he bites and they are sharp!

In the couple of weeks before hand he was very drooly and a bit unsettled but even more so now that they have come through. The drool is just phenomenal!

As you can see early teething does happen, although Erin started showing the same teething symptoms that you have listed at about 4.5mos, and then didn't properly cut her first tooth until 8 months.

Kaleb has also being showing all the signs so his teeth must really be moving in there as there's no show yet. Although yesterday I had a good look and its his top two teeth which are bulging under his gums so maybe those'll come first? Either that or they'll move back again for quite some time - who knows?!

Do you know what age you and your DH started teething? appartently (sp?) that can sometimes give you an indication of when Daniel will have his first tooth.

I also have a feeling that Ella may also be teething, as she is also starting to dribble more than ususal, constantly has her hands in her mouth (way more than she used to), looser bowel movements (after every feed at the moment) and a red bottom, also she has been more grizzly than usual (last night she suddenly started crying like she was in pain, which did make me wonder).

Kates been doing the same thing for a couple of weeks- minus the nappy rash (but Charlotte never got nappy rash with teething either). I know that it was around this age we had to start having Charlotte in bibs 24/7 because of all the dribbling/chewing on anything and everything as well. I can't put Kate in anything with a collar because she goobers all over it and shes a sodden mess in seconds! I hope the teeth are a wee way off yet though- Charlotte wan't until about 8 months.

Elle had all those symptoms from about 4mths too but her first tooth didn't arrive until 9.5mths. The eye teeth do tend to be quite visable under the gums but they can be deceptive. We could also see the bottom teeth for months before they came through.

Thomas cut his first tooth at 4 months ... the only signs he showed beforehand were fists in the mouth and dribbling .. which I didnt even recognise .. It was such a shock when I felt his first tooth!!

He has 6 teeth now .. with more not far off!
