Topic: Vent - why us? Posted: 11 October 2007 at 8:29am |
I am so annoyed - I was up this am and couldnt sleep, went back to bed and 5 mins later heard tyres screech - Dh got up to Ella about 30 mins later and yelled - he looked down out the window to road and saw that his car had been broken into!
Yep smashed windown and of course that was the one night we left the car on the road, he left his wallet in centre console and his spare keys! Of course that includes the key to my car so now they know what my car is too and wont need to break in to it - they have the key!!! ARRRGGHHHHHHH
they got disturbed by neighbours but noone got rego, and cop who shags the young chick up road was on way to work so he came over and they gonna finger print...apparently we have had three patrol cars here already....GO the police!!!! He lost sunglasses (about $1000 worth for both pairs) his hands free kit (about $600) and of course his wallet so have had to cancel all his cards today already including his co fuel card! we kinda hope they filled up and got caught on security cam at a shell somewhere!!!
I am soo mad and sooo annoyed that we will now have to get my whole car redone as to locks and keys and as Dhs car is a work one his insurance might not cover it so it will be out of our pockets! not what i needed right now!
Dh is upset so of course he is yelling and grumpy which makes me feel worse....and he becomes unreasonable and we cant communicate when he is like that....what a great day!!!

Oh BS, that really sucks
And yes, understand the grumpy DH thing! Hopefully you won't have to pay anymore than the excess for the repairs on the vehicles.

BS. It's such a hassle when these things happen. When we moved into our place in Hillpark, Al's car got done twice within a short space of time and the real bugger was that the insurance wouldn't cover the contents of the car unless it was under our house policy - so two lots of excess!
Hopefully the little b*stards got a look at BSDH and sh*t themselves ... I certainly wouldn't want him running after ME!

actually they got a very good look at Joe Rocokokos brother who came out and scared them off...and he is double Joes size and darker!!! LOL!!!
Ok update - well we found the keys - they had dropped them in the car and were under a pile of glass etc....LUCKY as quotes went from $800 - 1200 BUT found out they would cover up to $500 on insurance as "lost keys" to replace keys and locks....had booked it all in when DH found keys! LUCKY!!!!
so now just his wallet etc etc...but Police called him at lunch time and said they already had leads....am guessing that means our one was done at end of a night of breakins????
am feeling better now knowing I can park my car and it will (hopefully) still be there and NOT opened with the key and driven off...... Ive been a little stressed today at work to say the least!
Damn the P addict living up the road at his parents million dollar house on bail...and Damn those inorganic collections bringing people around who suss out what they want to come back for that is not out for collection...eg cars etc....!!!

Glad to see sense of humour returning, bombshell. Also glad to hear that your car is gonna be safe (as it can be). Horrible when this sort of thing happens and is awful when DH is naturally angry about it. Hope that BSDH is calmer, now?

yeah he is ok tonight....he set up our security cam again....our street had been a target since P guy moved in, and security cams were ripped off houses!!! Cameras aimed at the cars so if they are taken we can see...and garage remotes now live inside at night....

that really sucks that its all happened but maybe its time to remind DH to bring his wallet etc inside every time rather than in the car.. on the safety advisory group i use to be on as part of work the inspector for palmy said that thieves look for any money or valuables visible in the cars and if they can see anything like that you are about 5 times more likely to be broken into.
