We went to fill out our forms this morning and reailsed that they had to be in by noon! Oooops. But to be honest in Auckland we didnt have many reasons to vote....and look what happened....we have ended up with John Banks AGAIN!! (Can anyone remember anything decent that he did last time???)

LOL Lyla, do you wear the pants?
I am rapt at our new mayor. He won by 12,000 to 7,700 to the current mayor - who tries to be all nice with everyone by having regular coffee dates with members of the general public? Hoping we get some firmer leadership in Palmy, no more pansying to the public, let the Mayor spend his time doing what he's supposed to be doing I say!

Hahhaha LOL I know MILF...its shocking!!! I am normally really good at that sort of thing....I just lost track of the dates this time. Its funny I spent 30mins this morning reading all the booklets that came with our forms, and was filling it out and everything when I realised that we had missed the deadline... sucks!!!

no teresa i dont wear the pants - well we share them but he is so lazy about things like that. and i get sick of listening to the complaining about the government etc, so have instigated the no whinging if no voting rule.
we also have a rule for rugby season - he can play as long as he doesnt whinge about how sore he is. exceptions are real injuries but old age is not an exception

I voted since I worked with the mayor and councilors
lol Teresa.. Heather Tanguay isn't actually that bad. But she is very community minded and doesn't have any business knowledge at all.. Jono Naylor is alright though..
Theres a couple of stinky results for Palmy though. Michael Feyen is a wanker. Lew Findlay is an asshole...

Yep I voted as I am passionate about local politics, after all they directly affect us and how our rates are spent! And yay, it looks like Penny Webster is the new mayor of Rodney! I can't believe that socialist Wayne Walker is a close second though, wow!

Yep I voted but no idea of the results. I don't live in a city so not sure where to find the district results.
Don't you think John Banks winning with 44085 votes in a city the size of Akl is a bit sad.

I did vote and i'm happy, i'll quite happily say I voted for Jono, he was the only person I saw out meeting the people of Palmy.
But I voted for the wanker (according to Stacey) but out what I had to choose from he was the 2nd best choice.

We didn't vote... 'cause it was too much hassle, so we never got around to sorting it all out. When we moved here, we filled in our change of electoral roll stuff and sent it off... we got letters back a couple of weeks later saying we hadn't been in our new place long enough so we were still enrolled in our old electorate of Taupo. By the time we got those letters, we'd been here the month required!
Anyway, we haven't quite got around to enrolling in the Wellington electorate yet... and couldn't be bothered casting special votes for Ruapehu District when we don't live there anymore.

I think Feyen might actually have stuff to offer and I'm glad he downsized from Mayor to Councillor. But I was shocked to see Lew Findlay was in! I know he does Drug Arm but he doesn't look all that passionate about life to me And yet he got more votes than Hornblow (or anyone else)!
