Does anyone know if there is anywhere in NZ where mums can take there bubs to try and sort out their sleep probs? Am asking for my friend whose baby has colic. Went away wih them for the weekend and did not realise a baby could cry inconsolably for so long She is starting to get real stressed.

Really wish there was something I could do to help them.

Anyway, any info would be most appreciated.

i took the boys to the plunket rooms in palmy ( i know not all plunket rooms have these facilities) when i was having probs with Jaidyn sleeping and they had the boys for a couple of mornings for me to sort out Jaidyns sleeping - they took Keegs as well to to give me a break as i was getting really stressed. Prob not as bad as your friend but he used to scream wickedly when put down until i'd get him up and have to let him fall asleep on me. Keegs would sleep thru it!!! If there is no plunket facility with the sleep room set up can she get a friend or family member that could maybe come round and during that time to help her out? I really dont know what else to suggest except to maybe find a doc that used to do pediactics(sp?) ( the boys doc had worked in neonats for 10 years so felt really comfy with him).
Or even talk to chemist or ring the healthline 0800 611 116 i think ( will check in min) as they may know of some organisations that can help.
uummmmmm - i honestly cant think of anything else but if i do will be sure to put my ramblings on here for you. I really feel for your friend so i hope she gets help soon.
Is there anyone that can babysit for the night to give her sometime to herself or with other half. Then maybe they could have stressfree chat about what to do about bubs?
yep thats the number for the healthline

Aimee give her this website www.cryingoverspiltmilk.co.nz it has all the signs of reflux on there, alot of time reflux is misdiagnosed as colic. She needs to keep pushing at the doctors. Its not normal for babies to cry all the time. And also mothers know best if she has afeeling something is wrong with her baby then there probably is. can she afford to go to a private Paediatrician?

There is a place in Hamilton called MotherCraft. But I am afraid that is all I know about it. I know a Mum who was sent there with baby No. 2 and he was sorted out a treat.

To go to MotherCraft in Hamilton you have to be refered by Plunket or your GP, and you have to live in the area. I went there with Kiya, they were great!
