Topic: three year olds suck Posted: 25 October 2007 at 8:04pm |
I have had a total of one day as the mum of a three year od and I must say, i'm not bloody impressed. jake is at present in his bedroom - a full hour later than usual, yelling and thumping the walls. He has had about three tantrums - one this morning when i said he couldn't have cake for breakfast (sssh ginger), another one when there were no more presents, and his last one tonight was...I forget. Not impressed at all!
Oh, and shock of shocks - my in-laws (parents anyways) gave him a birthday present!

I totally understand, I have had enough of my 3 year old.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

This post made me laugh out loud.. I feel ya!
We've had a few MASSIVE tantrums, never experienced these before, I don't know how to deal with them! They can last half an hour, and if I leave her in her room, she doesn't give up!
Cool about the present from the inlaws!

I hear ya too, Braedon never did the terrible twos but got this attitude at 3 going on 4, I think the mix of kindy is where it came from and just normal testing the boundary things to see how much they can get away with

Agreed!
Although mine is being quite sweet so far today I am fed up with hearing "I can't!!!" and "I need your heeeeeelp!!!" over the most simple of tasks like feeding herself or putting her pyjamas under her pillow.
Lol @ 'that's the point' Ella is now shouting 'I don't care!' back at me whenever I tell her I don't like something, after I said that to her the other day.
How do they know to remember all the bad things we say?

Oh yes! The terrible two's don't seem so bad once they've turned 3! They're bigger, stronger & know how to talk back! Yep, found the first few months of Rico turning 3 hard work! I thought "yay, gone are the terrible twos", but no, just turned into TERRIBLE THREE'S!
Hang in there!
