Congratulations Kazzle. It is great just the relief at not having to get up in the morning!! And for me, it wasn't the job itself that was stressful, but stupid office politics! What a relief!

I ended up finishing 2 weeks earlier than planned at 33 weeks cos I'd just had enough! And yep, it was such a relief to finish and just relax and make the most of sleeping!

Hi All,
I must be the only one finishing early... I am due on 29th April but finish up at work on 3rd Feb. It is my first baby and I just want to have a rest and good break before our new bundle arrives.

I am looking forward to finishing work.

I have heard back about maternity leave and its still up in the air, because midway through last year i changed jobs to a different company, but both job places are owned by the same person.

So we are just waiting on ird to tell us if that makes any difference. I am hoping it doesnt as we could use the money.

My end date is going to be roughly two weeks before, as I want to maximise the time at home *after* bubba comes, despite desperately wanting to do what some of you ladies are planning....

I got booted out of my office job 3 months before I was due, but then ended up milking cows full time until my due date, so ended up only having 8 days rest while I was overdue, well actually only 7 because I was in labour for 31 hours at the end. I was really lucky, because I had a very cruisy baby so was able to catch up on rest after the birth!

Booted? Not because you were preggers I hope? And are you eligible for maternity leave with this farm job? I still can't imagine myself milking with a bump LOL although I'm sure plenty do !

I found it great having 7 weeks off before Hannah was born, though I did get bored by the end!

Well I was on a six month contract, but when they found out I was pregnant, my contract was cut short because they were supposedly reducing staff. Then after I left I found out they replaced me so go figure. My union rep said I could take them to the cleaners for what they did but by that stage I was fed up & said forget it.
I didn't find it that hard to milk cows actually and it was only 4 hours a day. I'm not eligible for maternity leave at this job either because I only work casually. But I'm not really worried about it, I qualify for alot of family assistance in April, plus I can get the $1200 parental tax credit when bubs is born, and since my fiancee is gets very cheap rent for a beautiful 5 bedroom home with his managing job plus about a $1000 worth of beef every year (we get it in about 2 weeks), we are very well off compared to alot of people. And we get to live in a lovely rural area, that is still only 5 minutes from town. Sorry I hope I'm not gloating but I love our lifestyle!
