Seeing as I'm a first-timer, I have no idea what the last few weeks is supposed to feel like. I've kind of been on my toes since 26 weeks when I started having big contractions, but they calmed down in hospital.

Now I'm getting strange pains 'down there' kind of feels like the cervix trying to open (not that I would know what that feels like, but YKWIM!) coupled with increased discharge (sorry TMI) and every time bubs moves it feels like I'm either going to wet myself or he's going to fall out! And now I'm getting serious back pain which shouldn't be from over-doing it, as I'm not working anymore, and can't be under-doing it because I've been 'nesting'.

I've also been having little up-chuck moments (just in my mouth but ew! ) over the last few days (10 yesterday!)

I'm assuming most of this is just normal or am I getting prepped for labour? I hate not knowing when he's going to come!!, as I've been told conflicting things about whether or not I could go early due to past conditions.

The needing to wee and the extra discharge is normal. If the baby has engaged then your bladder doesn't have much room (much like in the first trimester) and any small movement from baby can put even more pressure on it. We were told at ante natal that it is normal for discharge to increase at the end of pregnancy.
Not sure about the up chucking, do you have heartburn? it could just be that causing it.

The cervix doing stuff is normally period like pain, but a kind of buzzing (but much more unpleasant) sensation can occur when the engaged part of the baby rubs around your pelvis and bumps on the cervix.

I don't have any heartburn, just the slight vomitting.

I'm going to see my m/w today but she's usually of absolutely no help to me (haven't seen her in 7 weeks!) so thought I'd ask on here too

How did the mw go emz?
I'm not as far along as you, so I'm not sure if those things are "normal", but your mw should put your mind at ease.
Just remember everyone is different

I hope she books you in for weekly visits now, especially if there's a chance you could drop early.

Good luck, keep us posted

She was surprisingly lovely today, I feel a bit more reassured now! Forgot to mention the throwing up part (although it's not a biggy, I can handle it!) but she answered all the rest of my questions. Now that I've seen her and told her how stressed I am about everything I think she understands that she needs to reassure me and tell me everything's OK.

Still on fortnightly visits, not supposed to go weekly until 36 weeks.

Oh, bubs is small too so now have to have growth scans every fortnight for the rest of the pregnancy to make sure he's progressing as he should.

Thanks for the help ladies!

That's great that she answered your questions. When do you have your first scan?

Scans are 26/11, 8/12, 21/12, 4/1. It'll be so cool seeing him at this stage of the pregnancy! When I had a scan at 27w (to check the heart) he looked so much more human than ever before. Can't wait (well, as long as everything's OK!) and my mum is hoping DH will be busy at work for the first one so she can come and see.
