Topic: Is it normal...? Posted: 25 November 2007 at 8:24am |
For a baby of 4 months to not want to sleep hardly at all during the night?
We put Bella down at 7.30pm, she woke at 9.30pm and was up till 11.30pm, then woke again at 1am and was awake till 2am, woke again at 3am and was awake till 4am, woke again at 5.30am (I fed her here), and then she slept (well we think she did i.e. she didn't make any noises ) until 8am.
She has ALWAYS been a fantastic sleeper at night. This last week she has been a bit wakeful, but I put it down to hunger and started her on solids on Thursday and she had started to stretch her sleeps out...until last night.
She doesn't seem distressed, but is obviously tired (as are we ) but does seem very fidgety (pulling her legs up, flailing her arms around). I even tried some pamol, but it didn't help at all.
Any ideas what this could be? Or does every baby just go through these sort of patterns?

I guess the other thing could be that she just had a bad night. We have them sometimes so why cant they? I keep expecting everything to be the same day in day out.

Could it be the heat? She might be thirsty, perhaps try offering her water if you don't think she is hungry. Or could have just been bad night for her. Hope tonight is better for you.

It might just have been a bad night - a one off. Hope she sleeps better for you tonight.

we've had trouble getting tom to sleep at his normal time and I think it is the fact that his room has been around 27 degrees at 7pm!!!

The gremlins room is really hot too, I leave their window open til I go to bed to cool it down a bit, but even at 4am it's still around 20 degrees in there!
I woke up at 2am this morning to hear a gremlin (possibly both) chatterboxing away in her cot, not sure how long she was awake for but she settled down ok.
