I seem to have developed excema under my arms. It is itchy as when I put deoderant on but I have to wear it or else I smell . Does anyone know a good deoderant I can use that won't irritate my excema??

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Seen as you are turning into an earth mother Becks, how about a deodrant stone from Greenbeans? I have one and if I use it every day I dont smell. You still sweat a little but it doesnt smell, and no chemicals!

They say any deoderant that is Zinc free, pharmacies have special deoderants that you can purchase and someone working within the pharmacy should be able to tell you about them all.

Amiee not a silly idea but DH is getting a bit grumpy with me turning into an Earth Mother so that may have to wait until he is safely in Waiouru and I have control of the bank accounts . Will try the dove first.

Weird I went through this a month or so ago and was using nivea too. It was horrid - all I wanted to do was scratch which is not a good look! I ended up throwing out the bottles I had and buying a new one and it hasn't occurred again since ... knock on wood!

You could try mitchem, I get a lot of eczema & havn't had problems with it.
The other thing to look for is Aluminium free deod., not sure of any names but pharmacy should be able to help you out

Health food shops sell aluminum-free ones too - there's a tea tree one out there (but it does kinda leave you with that faint waft of teatree).  And the deoderant stones Aimee mentioned really do work!  Not quite as effective as hard-core anti-persperant, but they still work.  And your body adjusts to deoderants - DH uses deoderant once a week at the most and despite being a builder, he never gets stinky (crazy but true!) - the more you use, the more your body relies on it.

Sux to get eczema eh.  The Doc finally told me yesterday that the skin probs that drive me crazy every summer are a weird form of eczema - FINALLY I can do something to prevent it!!  Have you thought about putting aqueous cream on under your arms before bed?  Prevention if better than cure for eczema.  But there's always steroid creams if need be.
