Topic: Houdini Baby Posted: 04 February 2006 at 8:59am |
Up until the last three nights Hannah has slept really well, but only if shes wrapped up nice and tight. Shes now a little Houdini (sp?) baby and manages to get out of a tight wrapping and safety-sleep, then wakes up in the night with flailing arms! Am trying to get her to sleep without being wrapped during the day, but any other suggestions?

Sorry, I don't really have any suggestions either - Maya didn't manage to get herself unwrapped till around 7 mths. But Hannah sounds like she is pretty clever!

Arna did that too Aimee, we got a nappy pin (the ones with the lil safety thingees on them and "pinned" her in... I felt cruel and also was scared the pin will open somehow and prick her so I stopped after 2 nights, now she goes for "Walks" in her cot!!
So at the end of that I don't know! After the safe-tsleep arna got attached to her sheepskin (aka Sheepy) and now wont sleep with out it.

Tried getting her to sleep unwrapped but she wouldnt have a bar of it! lol. Anyway, she has actually stopped doing it since i last posted - typical! i think the problem was either that wrap was a little too small or there wasnt enough fabric underneath her to hold it all together.

Oh yeah, when they grow it gets a bit impossible to wrap them in little wraps. Now if I wanted to wrap Hannah I'd have to use a sheet! hehehe
Managed to phase out the wrapping but she has become scarily attached to the blanket I used to wrap her in and carries it everywhere. Hrmmmm...

LOL Nikki - one of the girls at Maya's daycare was wrapped in a sheet coz she was too big for the blankets!

I made up my own wraps by cutting up a queen sized sheet into three big wraps, cos all the bought ones were tiny

Plunket do the front-to-back thing, they reckon it is safer. I could never get it to work?
