a few people on here will know about the fish truck that is parked in the rest area opposite the Fisherman's Table in Paekakariki.
I stopped off there yesterday as I wanted some fresh fish to make fish cakes. Andrew wanted to get out so I let him. There were are very people ahead of us and as we got closer to the truck Andrew asked what was written on the truck. So I was telling that it says Ngai Tahu Fisheries and that he was from Ngai Tahu. The guy that was selling the fish heard me and asked if it was true that I was from Ngai Tahu to which I repied yes we are from Kaikoura (my great aunty loved genelogy and traced us back to some big chief of Ngai Tahu) and he told me that I get my fish for half price . I was stocked I got 500 grams of tarakehi for $6, all for Andrew asking what was written on the side of the truck.
I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!
