I had the most vivid, terrifying nightmares for about the first 20 weeks of pregnancy. From what I recall reading, it's quite common due to the increases in hormones :)

I had a few while pregnant with Josiah... really shook me up, especially as there was no basis for them, I hadn't just watched or read anything that could have possibly triggered it.
I would wake my husband up and tell him I'd had a nightmare, he'd cuddle me and pray for me and tell me it was just a dream... I'd go back to sleep feeling better and Nathaniel didn't know what I was talking about the next morning when I'd thank him! Silly male!

I heard that in pregnancy it's not that we have weirder dreams than usual, but that we sleep a lot lighter and wake more often, therefore we are more likely to remember them.. So i guess that means we were all weird before just didn';t know it!

He he Lizzle. Thats what I heard as well, about sleeping lighter so remembering them. I also had an awful recurring nightmare once I had Hannah, which thankfully has stopped now. I kept waking up trying to find Hannah in our bed cos I'd been dreaming she was in there and she was under the duvet or something. I just read today in Kid Wrangling that it is quite a common one. I thought it was just me!

my husband and i both had that one aimeejoy, freaky eh?!
i've had some really vivid ones this time, lots about suddenly having my baby and not being prepared and a couple of horrible nightmares that had me screaming in my sleep. i think its true that we sleep lighter, i certainly am waking up more often, although that could be the heat as well....

Yea i had that one too aimeejoy, that i'd forgotten to put bub back in his own bed!
One night i sat bolt upright in bed and started feeling around in the dark and felt something which i thought was baby! So i picked it up and lay down and put him on my chest and started rubbing him and felt awful!
Then i decided to turn on the light and there was my cat looking RAPT lyin on my chest! Poor thing had been a little neglected since bub was born, he thought he was in heaven! As for Jack he was sound asleep in his basinette beside me, what a spoon!

I had this dream when I was pregnant with Arna and she just popped out of my stomach - and that night I watched that roll-up's add with the kid sitting next to the preggy lady on the bus and the baby hand kinda comes out...

lol! dreams are strange sometimes.... i have had a few weird ones... but reading aimeejoy's one made me smile... after the birth of my first daughter i remember waking several times with my husband sitting up asleep looking for his wee girl! saying "where is she?" and muttering bizzare things! he would look under the pillow and pat the bed.....
